I'm good for an evening meet up. Maybe those of us with kids can have a pass for Saturday evening on account of Father's Day. @Paik4Life, do you have a suggestion on a time/place (other than Chantilly)?

Are we meeting up before the Con? @Paik; are you and Toy Dojo doing a BBQ at the gazebo again this year?

 

Honestly, we haven't really talked about it. Since the Con is in Bmore, it's a much farther distance, so don't know if it makes sense to do it? I imagine most out of towners wouldn't want to make the drive down. I'll talk to Toy Dojo though and see what's up.

Frankly, we're somewhat skeptical that it might happen with Delta and such.

EDIT: Toy Dojo said not this year. Due to COVID and distance from TFcon, they will not hold it. Sorry, everyone!

Assuming TFcon still happens, I've downgraded it to a Saturday day trip versus a whole weekend staying in Baltimore

 

I think logistically it doesn't make sense for them to do it at my place. Previously they sent their shipments to my house to save on outrageous hotel fees for pallets, but I don't think they'll be sending down here because it would just take way more time/effort to bring it up to Bmore.

I'm down for a local gathering before TFcon in some other capacity though. It's been far too long! Even a BBQ at my gazebo would work again but it just wouldn't be anything where you would be able to buy/preview stuff from Toy Dojo.

I say we just do another food get together at some point.

Seriously. I was thinking of going for Friday & Saturday, but now Saturday only is looking more in the cards. That is if it’s not canceled. I have my doubts about it even happening at this point.

 

If they do cancel the con I hope they give us a fighting chance to get the exclusives with out a blood sacrifice. I bought the premium pass so I could get the exclusives Friday night instead of sitting in a line Saturday morning for two hours. Will have to see how it plays out. I have a room so I do not have to drive back and forth 3 times; splitting it two ways.

 

Have they announced what the exclusives are going to be this year?
I expect attendance will be down now too from attendees and possibly even dealers.
BSF recently mentioned that he was planning to attend but with recent events, he wasn’t as sure.

 

The exclusives are usually revealed in the two weeks leading up to the con. Patience is a virtue. Still sucks having to wait though.

 

I would be down for a get together ahead of the Con. As for the Con itself, if it happens, I am only going for a few hours on Saturday.

Looking for a local to split the room I reserved. The person that was splitting with me cannot get the time off.

 

Not me. I am only going to be there for like 4-5 hours on Saturday.

 

I have a premium ticket so I am in for Friday night (early access to the exclusives) and the Custom class along with early access to the dealer room Saturday. Not into 4-6 hours of both way driving Friday and Saturday. Comic Con is the same weekend also in Baltimore. Traffic is going to be UBER chaotic hell. There are also other Halloween events and concerts just to rub more salt into the wounds of road raging hell.

If there are no takers I will try to trade my twin queen room for a single king room if it is even possible at this point.

 

I'll probably be skipping this year. No con exclusive that makes the trip worth it.

 

I only wanted to go on Saturday, but by the time I got around to getting a ticket, single day passes were sold out so I had to get one for the entire weekend. Maybe I can find another use for my sunday pass...

 

I think I'm going to bail on TFCon this year. I mostly wanted to go for the 3rd party panel, but that's on Sunday this year, which is also my wife's birthday.

If someone needs a weekend pass (they are sold out), I'm selling mine at cost (~$60).
