Menasor requires the least amount of brain power to create a "combiner", just get a big robot and slap some cars on it, done.

 

This is my reasoning for why Blaster needs more love, in the movie he brings Prime into the fight and gets to spin-kick Ravage.

 

I just always found Scramble City combiners to be less interesting (for me, personally). One big middle bot, 4 limbs that turns into rectangular prisms with feet/hands plugged into the ends. (I realize this is reductive.)

Devastator was interesting to me because each bot was unique, with a unique combined-mode transformation and body location (although in fairness, Bonecrusher and Scavenger combiner modes are 100% vehicle-mode-with-combiner-kibble-strapped-on).

 

The only times I've personally found Devastator cool was in AHM, cause he was so freaking huge, and in post-Dark Cybertron IDW when Prowl was in command of Devastator, only for that to quickly get sidelined thanks to Combiner Wars.
So Bruticus is best G1 combiner change my mind.


Also Predaking needs more love. His first win ever wasn't until the early 2000s, and it was against other Decepticons, and he hasn't been used much since.

 

Wow have you guys seen the price on BigBad? It looks like over $300 for the 6 figures and then another for an upgrade?

 

If you didn't know better, based on that pic you could easily assume they're selling a Hobbit-Devy figure by himself.

Okay I read the listing bdor the upgrade kit and it looks like it is just what combines the regular 6 figures. I may skip this dance that is alot of money for a legends scale combiner. Zeta's Bruticus is less than $100 more.

 

$395 plus tax, take that $5 less than $400 and treat yourself to something special!

The problem with a bodysuit approach is the possibility of using fake parts.

In this case, it looks like the two torso and arm bots are just sitting there in Devastator and can be replaced with fake parts.

So, the cost of Devastator becomes bodysuit + leg bots + fake parts x4.

 

I actually think it would be pretty rad if NA made non-transforming bits to plug into the Devy frame. Then you could have the gestalt displayed alongside the individual team members....or if you only wanted combined mode Devy, eschew the Constructicon sets altogether and save yourself some money.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see some 4th party or 3D printing fan take a stab at this.
