I agree on the app, it tells me daily it is back in stock, but by the time I open it, it is sold out again. That changed today thankfully, I got a order in for a set, so hopefully it will be fulfilled. The app has landed me a an Anakin Clone Wars figure, Major Bludd, and now hopefully this two pack, so the app is definitely helpful.
Skeletor was just about to claim victory Spoiler: Then this happened…. Skeletor be like….Are you f*##&g kidding me….
This is my perspective for the most part. I don't follow the MOTU franchise closely i.e. information about movies and tv shows. I do follow news about the toys (Origins and , to a lesser extent on Facebook, the MOTU Mega Construx). The new series animation looks good and i'll check it out because i saw supporting characters that i like. However.... if the show becomes about Teela i can see myself dropping it very quickly unless the spotlight is shared (heavily) with other supporting characters i like. I'm not invested in Teela and have no interest in her for the most part. I have some investment in He-Man (nostalgia). I am definitely interested in Man At Arms and other supporting characters. This reminds me of the recent Voltron: Legendary Defenders animated show. I didn't grow up a Voltron fan. I gave the show a chance despite that. Good GOD was that show beautiful and worth watching............until the 2nd to last and last season. I grimaced through it until the end. We will see if i'm able to do the same with this show. I'll give it a chance based upon the animation quality and nostalgia but if it starts veering off the path that i prefer i'm not investing my cognitive, emotional or financial resources into it. Let the next generation enjoy it and cherish it in years to come the way i enjoyed the original series as a child.
I have no problem if the show uses Teela as the protagonist if they tell an interesting story that’s true to the brand. He-Man doesn’t have to be the protagonist of every story told in the universe. We will know very quickly if this was done because there is an interesting story to tell or if it was to knock He-Man down a step.
^ Yep In addition we're talking about a cartoon here (or a western anime if one prefers). I'll be alright giving it a chance but i'm also not sticking around for too much of "The Teela Show". I've got too many other time sensitive adult responsibilities and too many other entertainment options .
You know....i hadn't really thought about it from that perspective but that makes me recall why i dropped the show Supergirl (?) . Despite my not being the primary demographic that Supergirl was aimed at i gave it a chance despite not having any interest in Supergirl and , believe it or not, it wasn't bad initially. In fact ...i liked it. Then slowly but surely it started to take a turn until the point that it was unwatchable. I stopped giving it a chance after season 3 or 4 (i'm not sure which). On the other hand "Bobbie" from the Expanse is a great example of a bad *** female protagonist that shines without being saddled with ham fisted writing. It's all about the writing and , whether people like it or not, the agenda of the writer.
My Faker and Fisto from amazon are held up in Fort Worth for some reason. They got there yesterday at 4:16 AM, Man I really hate when the USPS dose this.
Was able to get the Rise of Evil pack during one of the two minute stretches it was in stock this morning! Still don't have anything else past Wave 2 because nowhere around me stocks anything other than the He-man/Skeletor/Battle Cat trifecta.
I'm with you. I won't harp on this too much, because I think the show should (if it doesn't already) have it's own, separate thread. That said, unless they're planning to do a mini-series that focuses on other characters, assuming (and hopefully incorrectly) that the entire focus of this one will be on Teela, then I can see losing interest pretty quickly as well. My hope is that Teela finding out that Adam is He-Man isn't the primary tent pole of this story and that there are other arcs for the tale to turn toward, at least from time to time. "MOTU: Teelavation" just doesn't have the allure as a reimagining of the original material.
The toyline AND the show have their own dedicated threads. MOTU Masterverse Discussion Thread Netflix plans a He-Man cartoon
