Tell me guys... is this show worth my time? I'm gathering that most of everyone dislikes or outright hates it, but even with that is it worth giving a watch? I've seen the first 2 episodes and got bored and haven't picked it up since. I'm willing to give it another go though if it gets more exciting later on.

No, no it's not. The Netflix series treads no new ground, you can skip it and miss nothing. You're better off just reading the IDW comics, that's where the Netflix series gets most of its material anyway.

Am I wrong? Is the Netflix series not just reheated IDW?

As someone who enjoys the show, if you are bored with the first two episodes due to the tone, voice acting or anything but the action (which does pick up a bit towards the end of Seige), you might not find Earthrise to really change your opinion of the show. I don't know if Kingdom would change the format, but I doubt it.

By the fact that you have a username on a transformers forum.... yeah, it probably is. It has a couple of decent moments, and it’s transformers.

By the the fact the first two episodes didn’t do anything for you... probably not then. While the series has somewhat improved, it’s been at a very gradual scale.

I would argue Earthrise was a bit of a quality drop then improving gradually.

If you got bored with the first two episodes, you're likely safe passing on it.

What I did to get myself through it since I'd like to support the medium, was had a bunch of toys around me I could transform and fiddle with while the show played. Even so I had to take breaks here or there as it's really, REALLY boring. It drags horribly outside of fast action scenes, of which they managed to shoe-horn in almost two and a half whole scenes. Most action is broken up with stilted, unbelievable dialog that, at best, detracts from the action. At worst, drags you right out of it and leaves you wondering what they were getting at.

This is not must watch TV for Transformers fans. This is a rehash of older ideas tossed in a blender with grimdark edginess and questionable story concepts applied to cardboard cutout characters that are completely interchangeable save the top two leaders. One of which is a complete bumbling moron that's apparently to blame for all of Cybertrons failings, and the destruction of the Cybertronian race, and the other of which is Megatron. But, to be fair, at least they don't spell out WHY that's the case, so you can still root for Optimus if you're good at ignoring plot cues and the ranting of literally every other character on the show save Optimus, but that's not a positive thing for the overall plot.

I can't recommend watching this unless you just enjoy background noise levels of TV. Even so, it's going to leave you with more questions than answers. Questions like, "just what kind of drugs were the writers on?" and "Why is Optimus asking Megatron for forgiveness instead of killing him if he's truly the enemy he seems to believe he is?" Or, "Why does Skorponok, the biggest character in his chapter, scurry around like a freaking coked out spider?" Or, "Why does the one multi-layered character decide to cut off all his extra faces/personalities without objection from the extra faces/personalities?"

The sad thing is, all this weirdness happens and it's tough to even get angry about it. It's such a nothing character wise that you don't particularly care that it's half scattered fever dream, half dark tropes cranked to the stratosphere without the background info or the character spec to give a damn about it.

I wouldn't write this much about it if not for the declarations, repeated mind you, that THIS is the definitive Transformers lore. I would hope we get better than this at some point, but if this is the level they consider "definitive," we're in for some rough years in Transformers fiction.

Alright so I finished Siege and I'm on episode 2 of ER. My laptop died and I didn't feel like continuing my rewatch of G1 season 2, so I buckled and picked War For Cybertron. It's..... okay. It has some interesting concepts but overall I do find the execution leaves a LOT to be desired. The character models are so emotionless it makes me laugh. Every time someone dies, the bot watching them die makes a   face that absolutely doesn't fit the tone and it's pretty amusing. I'll go ahead and finish it this week since it is decent background noise but man I wish this were better.

Well.... when two seasons could've fit better into one... um, they already did this with the last half-baked trilogy series (PotP) and all three "seasons" could've been better told as only one. The main reason I'm even watching this show is because it is new. Why are they stretching out these short stories into long, drawn out melodramas for insomniacs?

Because I wanted new content and Hasbro gave me some, and now I have to be more careful for what I wish for.

That reminds me, I still need to go find season three of Cybergimmicks. I hear it got better.

Half-watched the episode where Megatron gets speared in the chest by plot device piece of metal, that was actually decent. If only the character models emoted at all, it would have been a really good conversation between him and Prime. That's my biggest issue here, the character models are SO dull. The voice acting is passable but when there's no emoting going on with the character's faces, it makes the voices null and void to me.

can't wait for bw megs in kingdom I wonder what the plot twist will be in season 3 my version is autobots join forces with the maximals in order to stop two megatrons and their combined crews it makes up for the melodramas so far I think the action is going to be intense considering beast wars is involved in the storyline

I really wanted to like these shows but...

Siege has a major problem in that nobody can keep their hands off the Idiot Ball, and there's way too much creepery creeping in Earthrise.

I know most of the cast for WFC is all new actors or actors we never heard of before. But would it be something if we got David Kaye as Beast Megatron in this?
