all this talk about the shoulders...unless you're posing him standing straight up, it is not very noticeable... in action poses it is pretty much disguised...

Just checked mine today and his shoulders are assembled wrong. It is still sealed and I’m going to give bbts a call tomorrow. Was wondering the same thing as you. It’s not a huge deal but since I have not opened it and the shoulders on the variant look better I’m going to see what my options are

I don’t have mine posed on the shelf. I got too many transformers man. Posing takes up space haha but I am someone who just wants Galvatron. I don’t care if I have the pin shown or not. As long as the toy still transforms and is fun I could care less about a pin is visible id rather see a pin then hallowness all over

To those who used rubbing alcohol to remove the battle damage: did you notice any "dulling" of the toy in that area? I read that Galv's chest plastic is very glossy and reflective, and that the alcohol leaves an area without that.

fenrys and I use Mr clean magic erasers. It’s hit or miss like rubbing alcohol but I know it tends to do better

Used 91% Rubbing alcohol myself and the "Dulling" is the residue of the Paint and I used a Cleaning Wipe afterword to clean that off.

So the correctly assembled shoulders sit lower or higher on the body?

correctly oriented shoulders allow for the arm kibble to be pegged in to the hole. It’s not just cosmetic, it’s also a functional

I really wish Hasbro used more screws in these guys, but I’ve noticed a lot of the kingdom figures seem to be trying to cut back on metal and replacing screws with rivets and pins wherever possible.

Hold on, do the shoulders impact transformation either way? I’m seeing “bad shoulders” thrown around and I interpret that as it can’t transform

Both versions (low shoulder orientation or higher) should transform fine.

It just means that if you get one with shoulders in the lower orientation, and you prefer the look when it’s higher, you might want to flip the shoulders around. That does mean the pin holes will be facing forward and if that’s a problem for you, you might want to try the surgery mentioned (risky, though) or make sure you get the other. Also, if the pinholes are forward then the tracks can’t tab to the shoulders properly in robot mode, but as they impede arm movement, you may want them untabbed anyway.

Personally, I’m not too bothered what one I receive. I think both orientations look okay. I’ll just flip them if I prefer the higher orientation, but the pin holes don’t bother me. You get that sort of thing on plenty of transformers anyway, even properly assembled, and with Galvatron you have holes on the shoulders either side anyway (rectangular on one, pin holes on the other). Good example: SS86 Grimlock has a hole right in his dinosaur face! I hardly noticed, but boooy the complaints on that thread.

OH okay. Yeah I’m not concerned at all then. I’ve seen both levels and they look fine to me. I was just getting worried one orientation wouldn’t transform properly. Thank you for the info!

Wouldn't that also be because it's easier to automate a pin/rivot than a screw? Screws can be over/under-tight where as a pin or rivot just gets driven in and is set.

It's "pins + glue", which make repairs like the "Galvatron shoulder situation" and customizations pretty damn scary. Prior to Siege it was fairly simple to remove some screws to fix qc issues and modify figures. Now everything is a cluster-f##k of pins impossible to get at and glue. And sometimes they overdo the glue and fuse joints together! I had a siege wheeljack whose crotch was fused together! And I had to toss it and buy a new one after fighting with it and stabbing a hole in my finger and bleeding all over it!
