I don't recall ever seeing them but that doesn't mean much, maybe check one of those sites that has the Argos catalogue scans around the show's air date?

Speaking of Argos, I didn't know this was a thing, or that Hasbro was a snitch lol

I only own one of their Jushin Liger variants because he'll never be made in a WWE line and he's never had a fully posable figure to that standard.

I loved Golden Axe as a kid but don't feel like I can justify those prices for those characters even if I wasn't collecting so much else, very cool that they're being made though.

Where they might get me is Gatchaman but no further news on that line yet.

Anybody happen to know if LEGO do a cylindrical/tube part that's wide enough to sit over a 1 x 1 round tile, my search thus far for such a part has proved fruitless but I do also find it's a beggar to discover a LEGO part if you can't find it's numerical assignment and/or proper name so I'm not 100% such a thing doesn't exist yet?

Yeah, the black one. I really like that deco!

Continuing on with the house reshuffle, I think it's time to put my old G1/BW/A few other early lines figures away since they are in a dusty room that I barely use. They're not in the greatest condition and have more sentimental value than anything else. Had a light fiddle with them, Smokescreen (the jet that comes with Dreadwind, the stealth bomber at the back) is a briliant figure, one of the most articulated Transformers to come out of that era. I was never much into RID and partsforming irks me ever so slightly but RID Optimus and his pack of accessories aka Ultra Magnus are also really good figures that still look brilliant today. I am tempted to keep them on display in their combined mode since I read that RID Galvatron's hand mode can be attached to them as a gauntlet.

Bubble wrap and in a plastic box seems sufficient to me but if you have any advice re: storage then let me know.

    image0.jpeg

Was also glad to see that Rotorstorm's original guns fit into his WFC figure's hands.

    image1.jpeg
And finally, does anyone have any idea which figures these orphaned accessories belong to? I've got a pile of guns/missiles/swords/limbs which I have identified but these are left over. I'm pretty sure the red one isn't Transformers but the others I'm sure belong somewhere.

From Top to Bottom, Left to Right:
    1) Not sure about the squared-U piece, another angle may be helpful.
    2) Definitely Micromaster Heave's Radar dish (you're lucky I had to customise my own relatively recently so the reference images are fresh in my mind)
    3) Dunno but I wouldn't write off actually a Transformers one yet.
    4) Looks very much like a G1/Reissue Snarl missile, there seem to be some versions with a clipped nose that gives them that anime grenade launcher grenade look.
    5) Deffo one of a G1 Hot Spot's "repair arms".
6 & 7) Dunno but they give me a very A/E/C or Unicron Trilogy missile vibe?

Thanks for the reply! I didn't see COPS in any of the Argos catalogues that I browsed. I find that slightly surprising because we did seem to get the majority of the well known US toylines of that era.

Interesting story about Hasbro too. Shameful behaviour! :D

You are an absolute legendary individual.

1.) Here are some more pictures of the U piece. There's a notch in the bottom and some notches on the inside which makes me think it swivelled on the bottom and held something inside it.
    image0 (1).jpeg
    IMG_1036.jpg

2.) Makes sense! I used to have that set!
    3.) Roger
4.) Yes, I used to have Snarl too. He was one of my favourites. Googled the set and missiles are identical.
5.) Still have Hot Spot! Have added this to my pile of Protectobot accessories.
6 & 7.) I cant think of any potential figures from those lines that I have. I think by that time I was a bit too old to really play with my toys and these missiles look to have been played with so I'm guessing earlier. But could be wrong.

Yeah I agree with you on that, although I think it is easier to see what’s hanging on a shelf at the back as the colour of the character stands out. A good example was Cyclonus and Primal as I managed to find a lone Cyclonus for my brother in a sea of Primals on the pegs at Smyths even though he was stashed at the back. I wouldn't have known about Warpaths shield if I hadn’t seen it on reviews before I got him. I’ve kept all my WFC boxes so I wouldn’t have lost it mind you but yeah completely get what you mean mate.

Just watching the 2011 Thundercats with my son (7). He is completely captivated… such as shame it was cancelled after 1 season, I think this would have done really well on Netflix if released now.

I refuse to show him Thundercats Roar.

Now that is a conundrum, to my recollection even latter G1 still tended to have pointier/less child safe by modern standards tips, and/or be more exotically coloured later on, any chance they could be Action Master era?

Got bored watching the first half of the England game so I went and listened to a podcast instead. Noticeably less plastic patriotism on my road than past tournaments with only one house going the whole hog with flags.

The hot & sticky weather has got me back drinking caffeine free pop but not as extensively as before I stopped drinking it for about a month so I'm hoping to stick to the moderation thing.....water is so f'ing boring and I can't drink too much tea because I have sugar in it.

Started playing a bit of Red Dead 2 for the first time in months over the past few days, I'm about 50% through it now, I've only had it since release day :D

Oreo & Rebecca ferret are still in "We can't really be arsed" mode but are eating and drinking plenty so they're OK, just sleepier than usual which I can totally relate to :D

    Robots,
Looking forward to Studio Series '86 Scourge this week via @Siege Fan and hoping to hear that Newage Jazz and Transform Element Scorponok have been dispatched from Show Z Store.

I'm thinking maybe G2 or around that timeframe... I seem to remember using the missiles in G2 Optimus Prime's cannon because I think my parents threw away the original orange ones because their tip was literally a big round chunk of plastic that hurt like a bitch.

If anything comes to mind then holla but I appreciate you sharing your knowledge already

I remember watching this when it first aired. Was a really good show. You're right, it's exactly the kind of thing Netflix would do well with, along the veins of their Voltron reboot.

Okay, Ratchet, if these wee buggers survive the next 48 hours, and a clear coat afterwards, let's promise to never tell anyone that your shoulder crosses are about a mm different in size because *someone* mashed up numerous attempts to get them to conform to the raised surface, and in their infinite wisdom the decal makers only give you two of each size in the pack so bugger all spares if you do mash the one of the matching size you need, urgh!

I thought I had vague memories of seeing B.P."Bullet Proof" Vess carded on-peg back in the day but I wasn't sure without proof. I wouldn't be surprised if we only got Wave 1, by '88/'89 the Toy Aisles were extremely competitive. A lot of would-be contenders died on the peg, and IIRC the dominant IP on the toy aisle by then would be the Turtles, and the NES was out so home computer games were also really starting to take a chunk of change out of the market.

Don’t watch football but sat through it purely to feel close to my nan as she was an avid England supporter but I was quite impressed by that goal, absolutely cheesed that shot!

In robot news, caved and grabbed reissue Highbrow, at the cost of Weirdwolf and Skullcruncher. Really have no interest in the last two so if anyone wants them before they go on eBay? I’ve yet to receive them yet mind..but won’t touch them.
