Haven’t seen a thread so far so let me try doing one up.

    Box:

    69616D75-B658-44F4-8782-18608759380D.jpeg

As pointed out in the News section, the box art shows Roadrage’s face somewhat.

    Out of box:

Nice looking bot mode out of the box. But this is also where it went downhill for me.
The sides of his legs were basically free-wheeling right out of the box. There’s a small tab to hold it in place but it doesn’t work. You can even see plastic stress marks where the pins are.

    0F049E89-8A62-4652-BF4E-5FE43934F982.jpeg

Nice head sculpt though. Mine has a small smudge on the left cheek.

    Let’s start the transformation.
This is the full translucent plastic roof everyone is worried about. It’s quite thick compared to other opaque parts. Not too worried about breakage for now.
However, during transformation, you need to flip part of the roof out, which is scary because no matter what you will need to bend the plastic a bit.

    1A25096D-FD78-4E1F-AD89-8E2CC4B85BDF.jpeg 59042EB1-D877-4A71-9F4B-F658BD9E6CB1.jpeg 0459BEB5-30AC-4F27-8A45-C94DFC6FB713.jpeg

When you rotate the roof, the clearance between the roof and the robot head is VERY small so you might scrape paint off the head.

So from this point onwards is where the transformation pissed me off so much.
You need to move parts of the leg to close it nicely.
Then you need to fit the roof over the fake chest (which is actually nice btw), and clip it on to the legs. This is where a lot of massaging is needed and I was so afraid of breaking a tab.

You do get a very nice car mode though…. BUT the stupid leg side panels don’t clip in properly again, causing gaps in the hood.

    3C309324-05F1-4454-ABA0-59C03BF802A2.jpeg DE99F3F9-854F-4AA5-A3F6-17260F8323CB.jpeg A21DFEE1-E85F-4A56-A604-F0A66D0605C5.jpeg

Maybe I’m not doing something right, so let me try to get it back to robot mode.
Nope now it’s difficult to untab the roof. Flip one leg out first to avoid tabs breaking.

Ok I got to say robot mode is nice though, except for the horrible legs. At least it helps with certain poses. Ugh.

I had Generations Tracks with me to do a comparison. As you can see, the generations design is super dated.

    9DAAE749-D1E4-4CD9-9336-62745C09E741.jpeg A2706C0A-EA62-4C8C-8576-FEB91E34EBD9.jpeg 45880EFE-CE29-443A-B11C-97EBF641CD06.jpeg EAF1E9F4-7BDC-4CFF-BED2-335CEDF02147.jpeg

In summary, I’m unsure whether it’s bad QC or just bad legs design, but I cannot recommend Kingdom Tracks as a toy. He is a good display piece though, with a nice compact car mode (barring the gaps in the hood). I didn’t like Warpath’s legs’ transformation but at least that one fit and closed nicely. I downright hate Track’s legs.

Would you say he feels fragile like SS86 Jazz?

I don’t have Jazz though :(  waiting to get him cheaper.

But generally he doesn’t feel fragile, maybe similar to Punch / Counterpunch, or slightly more fragile than one of the Datsun brothers.

The QC problems are unfortunate. Honestly, I've warmed up to his weird chest and some of the gappiness, but to discover he's also a bit of a mess QC wise is just so sad. I'll probably pick him up just so I have a Tracks, but he's probably going on the shelf and staying there. Between the Masterpiece and now this figure, Tracks has been getting screwed in the modern era. It sucks, because he's a fun character with a really cool design in both modes.

Hm, easy pass. Shame as his spotlight episodes are highlights from the original series

Thanks for the review, it's a bummer about those leg parts flopping out. Seeing the RTS figure next to this one is rough sailing for the older toy, yikes I didn't remember it being that bad.

I’ll reserve judgement until my own arrives. I’ve usually been on the upside of QC generally for WFC trilogy figures.

Yeah, all the people saying, "RtS is better, I'm keeping that one!" are gonna have a hard time justifying that. He looks like a toaster with arms and legs.

I'm so sad of how this guy turned out as he is one of the bots I was looking for the most from kingdom before the first images surfaced, and in hand doesn't look that much better.
But Road Rage... She looks a bit better, but I worry that she will end up having the same issues as this figure (the clear plastic and the qc issues), we'll see how she turns out.

Every single review I've seen and read of this figure boils down to it being perhaps the weakest figure in the Kingdom line, riddled with disappointments and QC issues. As a result I ended up canceling my pre-order and going with the Mechanic Studios offering.

In terms of looks and proportions, yeah the Kingdom Tracks is way ahead. But have you handled the RTS mold lately? It’s pretty stupendous in terms of parts count, detailing, and engineering.

Yeah, it's a REALLY good figure. It was one of my top 5 favorites for YEARS; the car mode weapon storage for both his gun AND his missiles is dead clever. Really the thing that lets it down was the cheaper plastic they used for the early RTS figures, which ground into a powder and left the figs all floppy.

Besides RTS being awesome there's also just the matter of not wanting to replace a tried and tested toy with a time bomb. Regardless of aesthetics or articulation, when the opening post says "yeah you're gonna scrape the paint off, I felt I was going to snap tabs, and a huge piece of the figure is painted transparent plastic which people love to whinge about and are afraid of shattering", that's not a stunning endorsement to spend $20 and tax and maybe shipping just because it looks more like the cartoon.

Oof. Yeah, this thing is underwhelming.

I've already posted this elsewhere, but I really wish Hasbro took the SS86 Hot Rod route with this guy, and gave us a deluxe-sized figure with voyager-scale engineering and complexity. With this release, I feel they tried to do too much within the deluxe budget and it feels gimped in a lot of areas.

I would be over the moon if they did that. Sadly, I think he’s stuck in a slight Catch-22. His DX toys are underwhelming because of the complexity required, so they won’t make a Voyager because they don’t think it would sell… I’m really hoping a third party gives him a proper go. I have the Mechanic Toys one, but he’s a bit small, and needs extra parts for all his modes. Still, this one might be great with a couple of tweaks. I’m waiting until I have him in hand to judge him!

This is the epitome of what I don't like in Transformers; transformations that are so needlessly convoluted that you need to take a quantum physics class just to be able to move everything the right way, and so much translucent plastic used that I have a hunch it's some HasTak designer's dream to make a figure in all translucent plastic. Siege Mirage, the ER Datsun mold, SS86 Jazz; all figures I want to enjoy that've been plagued by the latter especially. Miss when they pinned the transparent pieces onto regular plastic rather than just paint over it.

With all of these issues, I'm REALLY iffy on getting this guy. I haven't had a Tracks figure before, and I don't want to skip any of the retail Kingdom releases (didn't do that for Earthrise)... but when this guy makes CHEETOR feel hefty and sturdy, you know something's gone wrong. I just hope as more people get this guy, we get fixes on all his problematic areas. But until then, I'll likely keep him in package, and let Wingfinger and Scorponok (review when) do their own thing.

Sorry for the mini-rant there... just... REALLY worried about this guy if he gets in my collection.

Actually after reading your comments in the Rhinox thread, I feel like Tracks’ transformation might be the same way - practice practice until it gets less irritating.
Nothing can fix a broken roof though I guess worse comes to worst, just super glue the whole back pack :/

Car mode IS packed pretty nicely…

The chest cheat, the clear plastic, the paint scratching, the inability to tab together properly in car mode. All those leave me happy to just keep United Tracks on my shelf. Would love to get him a new gun though.
