Well the Transform and Rollout one is still being made, and their Jazz was pretty good, so there's a chance as long as he doesn't take another 1+years for another update.

I hadn't seen that before. It's way too "over-the-top Japanese-anime-style" for my personal tastes, but it looks like a well-designed figure.

just pipe that weeb shit into my veins. Probably up there with FireConvoy and Armada for the most Japanese prime design.

I've seen that prototype but It's been so long that I'm expecting FansHobby to design and release theres before this comes out. And I've just given up on MakeToys. Their Prototype looks spot on but this was what 4 years ago? MT despite what they say seem functionally dead.

    My bad.

G1, seasons one and two. That's who I grew up with and that's who instantly comes to mind when I think of Optimus Prime.

Yeah, the reason why I like Armada's Optimus design a lot is partly because of how the location of his yellow breaks up and harmonizeds the red and blue color scheme. I usually don't like red and blue together on characters enspecially in how they have been handled in the 80s.

I also like the new color scheme he gets later in the show with the black, pink, and red eyes. That just such an interesting take on his color scheme, I think its meant to symbolize his dark side, but honestly I wouldn't mind seeing it again. Kind of like what I said earilier about Armada doing better to hint at this dark side more and for Optimus to have it materialize in someway ( honesty this color scheme could also work well with Nemisese Prime too).

Armada also had a few moments, where Optimus had to learn how to be gentler (not sure if this is the right word) too like an episode where the decepticons where teleporting all over the place and with their armyof minicons, and Rad and Fred convices Optimus to believe that the mincons could be swayed to their side despite Megtron being right there, without using force to capture them.

Anyways I may indeed be a bit bias towards the show I grew up with so. Ojective Optimus Prime fans please excuse me.

I don't want to be a "Geewunner" but I feel like his Sunbow characterization is the best. Doesn't want violence; just wants to help stop the violence and will do what he has to, and best of all, he has a personality and talks like an actual person instead of only ever sounding like he's giving a speech.

My biggest annoyance of current Primes is that the writers seem to be terrified of making him speak the way an actual character would in any given situation. He seems to be always going out of his way to say things like "must" and "shall" and never using any verbal contractions. Cyberverse Optimus prime seems like the same as Aligned Optimus, the only apparent difference being that one party episode that people always mention. But acting really awkward at a party doesn't really equate to a personality. I imagine Aligned Optimus would also be very uncomfortable at a party for the same reason; he simply doesn't know how to act in any other way than his usual "I'm always serious and monotone and boring" kind of way. And Netflix Optimus seems to have had some attempt at a personality, but his personality turns out to have been "I'm completely inept at everything I do" with the super boring monotone voice thrown on top of it. And when his voice does get more emotive, it's even worse (We are NOT THE DecEpp[TICOONNS!!!!@!@121!@!!!!1!11111).

I said it in another thread but Prime has suffered most from whats called Flanderization. Each generation has kinda just kept the strongest traits but kinda just forgotten at the start he was kinda chill even making jokes and then would only become heroic when the situation called for it typically in battle etc. I feel like Prime now particularly in Prime and the movies just has no off switch there is no chill it's just moving from one fight to the next.

Personality wise a mix of Armada Prime's and Energon Prime's personalities.

Design-wise it would be a mix of designs. He'd be the height of most Primes (as in same height as Megatron), have the general G2 Laser Prime look, have the Armada Prime's proportions in terms of the shoulder height, reveal the Shield Primes solution of having the actual windows becoming his chest rather than a faux chest, and Energon Prime's colour-scheme.

FOC Optimus for me, he is there in the frontlines fighting along with his fellow Autobots and is humble enough to let one of them lead the charge.

He even takes the time to check those around him in the middle of an attack and do whatever in his power to help them.

But he is merciless when it comes to fighting the Decepticons because he knows how horrible they are and even spouts a few one liners after shooting them down.

Design wise I would go for G2 laser Optimus Prime because the long nose truck looks really cool and tough.

For his voice, I'm actually more partial to how Gary Chalk sounds when voicing his Optimus, it has a sense of authority but with a lot of personality in it while also sounds pleasing to listen to.

Colorscheme, I think dark red and dark blue with a few whites and yellows on him.

I think the perfect Optimus is a mix of many different incarnations.
Cheerfulness, friendliness, military tact, sternness, combat prowess, compassion, diplomacy, sensitivity, and wisdom are all what I think make a “perfect” and “complete” Optimus Prime.

Design wise, it doesn't exist. I believe the inside talks more than the outside, your actions talk more than what you look. It doesn't matter what design it has, Optimus is Optimus. Even the Black Ops Prime (bayOptimus) looked very Optimus in TF1, more heroic I guess. Knight Optimus? What a great design and idea. Imagine the Primes as Knights. Sentinel had a knight like design. But it would only be good with a good backstory to it. Still if Optimus acted like a noble knight, very gentle. In anyway I don't care for design so much. But I like him as the gentle, noble guy, naive, sometimes regrets his actions, but he knows he did the right, but the right brought mess, some Autobots see it, some disapprove, like TFP Ratchet sometimes or Grimlock (mainly), Pyra Magna and Prowl
I see Grimlock as the Megatron of the right side, methods and personality are not so different, just the side. Grimlock always dislikes OP's methods, bcs he does what is right and not what is needed. Grimlock doesn't care if gets his hands dirty or whatever he has to do for the cause, Optimus doesn't. I'd say Grim is less naive. Well, Grimlock wouldn't have a problem with movie Optimus, not the foc/ idw and dreamwave comics ones. And well, I don't dislike, that's a different version, but I'd prefer when Optimus and Grimlock are very different, so Optimus and Megatron would be very different so

    Exacly!

Honestly I go for this one as my all time Optimus. I think he did everything right, and I like his design. It doesn't look much agressive, the design gives me the impression he's a calm guy, he doesn't look much of a warrior. It's simple, and I guess it represents that version well, which he was a librarian. And I like how in the end he accepted with his all Megatron can't live, without showing hesitation. I don't like when the hero struggle with his moral, I like when he's convinced of himself. And well, Optimus kills so many soldiers, killing Megatron shouldn't be so problematic

G1 Op, seems to be the most popular version of him. So I’d go with that one.

As far as personality, sunbow is easily the best.

Design-wise, I like where you're coming from. I've been wondering for a while why Hasbro hasn't replicated the Reveal the Shield G2 window chest conversion, because the head and front window bit is rather clever.

A lot of Optimuses have some wonky proportions lately - Animated, Prime, Cyberverse, they aren't really solid in the core like the original G1 Optimus. I'd like to avoid that for future Optimii, but I don't see it happening, sadly.

One of my favorite designs was AoE/TLK Optimus, and if I could give him the chest and shoulders from his protoform design in IDW's Transformers: Foundation, I'd be a happy man.

Personality-wise, I haven't really been happy with any Optimus, lately. Bayverse Optimus comes the closest to what I'm looking for in terms of intensity and willingness to get the job done (you know, instead of constantly holding back against the genocidal maniacs he's dealing with), but he's had his share of dumb moments, and the series doesn't really explore why he ended up the way he did; it just implies it at most (and I'm being generous with that word). Netflix Optimus is widely regarded as a dunce, I can't stand Cyberverse Optimus's voice-acting, TfP Optimus had the personality of plywood with only slivers of passion that occasionally leaked out (Darkness Rising and One Shall Fall were his best showing, honestly), and Animated Optimus didn't feel like he was done growing yet.

And honestly, I much prefer longnose semis for his alt modes - you don't see too many cabovers in the States these days (heck, I haven't seen one in years). Though instead of a Peterbilt, I'd base it on the International Lonestar: [IMG]

I'm sure a lot of folks are sick of hearing about my ideas for Optimus, but in summary, he'd like if you took Netflix's Punisher, Gargoyles's Goliath, Solomon Kane, and the Doom Slayer, stuck them in a blender, and poured the results into an Optimus-shaped mold. When he says that freedom is everyone's right, what everybody else hears is "and I'll kill anyone who threatens that freedom."

I want to see a series that actually delves into his struggles, without going into edgy, poorly thought out deconstructions. Just show that it's not easy being someone like Optimus Prime, but that he'll never give up.
