The only MP Seekers I own are the Maketoys Dirge and the Hasbro Sunstorm. The MT Dirge is very good; the Hasbro Sunstorm is very much eh, and a confirmation that not going with the MP-11 mold for other Seekers was the right way to go.

With respect to the new round of Takara Seekers, I suspect I'll wait on reviews and then fill out Seekers with either MT or Takara, depending on which are the better figures for their price point. If the MP52 mold of Sunstorm ever makes it to KO (assuming it ever even happens), I'll probably replace him with a KO, but the rest will be originals either way.

While I have nothing against KOs, I prefer to get the original unless the KO improves some flaw (no butt flap on KO Magnus, a filled in alt mode on MP Soundwave, unscratchable paint on KO Megs, plastic that doesn't disintegrate on KO Hound). So I've got the official preordered, and I'm just praying it doesn't disintegrate or whatever.

It's Starscream for God's sakes. So I'll definitely get the ko instead of the official.

I prefer to get the originals 1st, then a KO if I want an extra copy.
However, in this case, I'm perfectly content with my 3 molds (original Skyward, updated Starscream, then the BB7 Thundercracker) + my 3 Toyworld coneheads.
I don't have the NEED to replace them with a slavish toon model.

That said, if a KO happens, and it's a decent price, I may get one to compare hand-in-hand.
THEN if I want to make the switch, KOs will most likely be all that is left of the BIG 3... So, that's what I'll have to do.

Seeing how KO MP-44 was such a failure, I'm having doubts on a successful MP-52.

Of course it depends on who makes it. I hope it's the 36 guys, and not the 44.

Not that I'll buy any version, I'm just thinking of you guys.

good lord, is your avatar terrifying.

Always been happy with my MT Seekers and I snagged the official cone heads when they went on a special at BBTS one year…

I already have my original MP11 molds on display in alt mode, so really no reason to replace anything. If a KO does come out, I’ll probably pick up just Starscream as a stand alone … and like others, I’m waiting on a decent quality MP 44 before I take the plunge on that mold!

I steer clear of KO even though they're cheaper and in some instances might be as good as or better than the official.

Well...in reality they weren't supposed to be up on the G1 toy, were they? Wasn't that a "mistransformation" in the pamphlet that made it into the animation? Plus, they look ridiculous with them up on the g1 toy because that nose/cone is YUGE:

Honestly lately I haven't even been buying the Takara KOs. I'm not a fan of the hyper toon aesthetic and I'm tired of swapping out figures. I passed on the MP-44 KO because I like my MS Prime and feel he fits my rather dated MP collection aesthetically.

Even if Takara was still producing masterpieces in line with the look of their Soundwave and Prowl(OG) I would've been priced out of official releases long ago. I appreciate that KOs allow me to experience toys and designs that I otherwise couldn't, but their recent releases(Takara) just don't interest me.

Starscream is no exception. His proportions always make me think of Mr. Peanut. Although many will disagree the lack of waist articulation on an MP is an absolute sin in my book. Finally the faux parts look ridiculous to me hanging off the bottom of his jet mode. 250$ for that? To each their own, but I won't even pony up KO prices for this.

Thank you!! The whole room is setup like that with the side by sides ;)

And Decepticon13 said exactly what I was going to … it was a mistransformation but more so it’s how crazy tall the cones are and it just looks silly to me :lol

You know, I'm kind of thinking I'm going to hold off on this one entirely and just go with the new third-party Starscream that was recently shown because I think that honestly looks better. I have all the make toys, takara, and igear seekers already as well as the yes model and toyworld coneheads (and maketoys, if they ever finish them). The only reason I'm interested in the new Starscream is because it looks to be an improvement in every way on the ones I already have. The new masterpiece improves some things at the expense of others and has what I think are kind of doofy proportions in robot mode. I don't know though, if the transformation is amazing and it's a really fun toy I would consider it.

I absolutely hate the mold, but I would buy that. @chchchch has a way of making even my least-favorite figures look great. He digibashed one with a completely customized toy headsculpt that I liked even better.

If I had to look into the future, I’d wager that…
I’ll not buy it because name a reason. I think I resent hastak to the point of not even wanting to promote knockoffs, for fear that a ko might inspire someone to buy a real one.
