Hey, folks. After a full year of doing nothing and six weeks of screwing up, I finally finished my second ever custom.

The deco is based on an unreleased prototype for G2 that was discovered a few years back. The TFwiki entry showed a sweet yellow and teal fade and mentioned that there were some sunset decals shown in an illustration in Transformers Legacy: The Art of Transformers Packaging. It was gloriously awful and I needed to a) buy the book to see it and b) try to make it happen.

It's rough in a lot of places, especially the roof section is awful, but I love how it looks in bot mode. I'm also super happy with how filling the side panels and adding a roof and bumper with Apoxie Sculpt turned out.

Transformers Legacy: The Art of Transformers Packaging. It’s fun to look at, but mine has some slight QC issues.

Okay, i'm really digging Sunset Sideswipe.

 

I'm digging these G2 customs. Takes me back to my youth, the neon, the extreme graphics. You really nailed this one.

 

I absolutely adore the colors, gradients and the sunset and clouds! He's fantastic! I wish I had one.

I sure wish Hasbro would bring those wild colors back for a new toyline.

Huh, what do you have in mind?

 

Trying to think through what a Perfect Effect PC-17 Core Magnus would look like as Thunder Clash.

I currently have two junker TR Powermaster Optimuses at home, a KO Core Magnus coming from China, and a vague idea of a Thunder Clash who joins with his trailer to become Hyperdrive.

 

Le see what i can do, i might need to look for some good pics of the toy to work on that.

Ok, even aside from the rough sculpting that vehicle mode with the added bumper and aggressively tapered roof looks absolutely awesome. If that's more how Siege Sideswipe's car mode actually looked I'd definitely buy at least one or two copies of this mold. The shape of the roof combined with the less curved hood and the large bumper reminds me of something out of Blade Runner:

 

These G2 designs were fantastic, and you've done some great work applying them to the modern figures!
