It's been discussed many times in the threads, and the consensus is always positive.

The one with Centurion was poor with an oversized gun for Optimus, other pieces that didn't fit well, no paint, and basically most of it being stuff that SHOULD HAVE been included with the figures (roller). So to me, that one was more of a money grab that anything else.

When it comes to accessory packs, most that have the interest in getting them, have been doing it already with the 3rd parties kits, and considering that most also have the gap fillers, something that I wouldn't see Hasbro doing as that would a very definition of "money grab" from incomplete figures.

So if they were to do it, I could see a bunch of them such as:
    • weapons pack - guns
    • weapons pack - sword and melee weapons
    • shield/armour pack
    • tools pack
    • medical pack
    • scout pack
    • specialist pack
    • blast effects
And price them properly for what they would have, and not go cheap about it for once.

When you consider how many toys barely come with anything, some with nothing (a lot of the Legends for example) that was simply wrong to be so greedy, I would just worry that it would be another excuse to be even worst with the figures accessories.

3rd parties kits have been an amazing "saver" to complete a LOT of figures that Hasbro just didn't do right ("but so close") and some are fair in price, others have doubled the "value" of the toy easily.

Once upon a time I could have seen the possibility of Hasbro doing this as a great thing, now, I would worry that it could backfire.

The next big thing I'm planning to get into at some point is a 3d printer, and at that point, I'd say that I'll be done caring about such things and just do them myself. I'm just waiting for the technology to hit that "sweet spot" of pricing, quality and ease of use (no fine tuning or complicated set-up, I just want plug and play).

I'd buy a whole blast effect set if Hasbro would release one. Throw some extra weapons in there and I'm sold, take my $15 or $20 it'll take to make it happen.

YES! Been wanting this since that c-clip weapon system they created way back in the day. Throw in some generic Titan Masters and Prime Masters and I'd be one happy camper. Maybe even use this as an excuse to do some of those Headmaster animal concepts Takara had during the original G1 run.

I wouldn't buy weapon packs how they've been done in the recent past.

I believe they'd have more buy-in if they offered themed sets in addition to some random assortment. There are some themes I'm not interested in and would be unlikely to buy the assortment if too much is from said themes. That's most of what got me with that Centurion set - I didn't want the Centurion. The other part is, honestly, if you're just selling 6-7 bits of plastic (preferably guns), it can't cost like it's a deluxe with 10X the parts and assembly.

Sell me 20 guns, cast in the right color (and duplicates are fine), for $20 and you've got a deal. Something similar except swords might be alright. I expect other people would buy a box of blast effects. Random show props could be another that would just have to have the right balance of desired parts and price. Pretty sure it wouldn't work at retail though and a preorder system at Pulse would help gauge demand better.

Thank you for the input guys.
I too, have been buying AM weapons and accessories for some of my figures that just didn't come with any, such as Siege Sideswipe missing his rifle.

Siege Hound has his missile launcher, but no missile for some reason, as if a few more cents worth of product sent Has-Bruh over budget.

I was nearly thinking of the money they could make by producing these missing items and selling them in themed packs. Oh, and I like the mini figure idea being a collectable inclusion. That's brilliant.

I knew I couldn't be the only one who would love more bits and pieces to display my figures with.

Those were of intensely low quality, warped by the packaging shell, 3mm ports far out of tolerance. I still get a lot of use out of them. It goes to show that even BAD blast effects are very desirable. I bought the Cyberverse Deluxes in large part because I wanted more blast effects.

No. I'm into Transformers because I enjoy the puzzle of the figures and how one mode goes into the other. Buying extraneous stuff for them to stand there and hold is, to me, a waste of money when I could just get another figure instead.

Counterpoint: Starscream's three-missile blast is literally the best blast effect.

Oh, right, I forgot about that. I need 2 or 3 more of those.

But there is also great enjoyment in the puzzle of over-accessorizing a figure. You can more than double the mass of a Deluxe by attaching accessories! That's got to have SOME appeal to you... no?

    Blacktop_1.jpg

Think about this, too. You can use Sideswipe missiles and some of the accessories from Ironworks and similar bots to attach multiple characters together and do some pseudo-combiner stuff!

Yes if they're of the quality of Hasbro's nicer weapons like those that come with SS86 Hot Rod, ER Prime, or Kingdom Cyclonus. No if they're overly hollow, undersized, and/or the wrong color like the ER Datsuns, ER Ironhide and Ratchet, ER Wheeljack, or SS86 Scourge. The main reason I buy 3rd party weapons is because Hasbro's weapons often being hollow, undersized, and/or covered in ugly pegs ruin the 'mini-Masterpiece' look I'm going for.

Judging by the going rate for Centurion drone, more than will ever get made.

I 100% would. Just think what Hasbro would be able to do without a figure taking up 95% or more of the budget;)

Re-releasing G1 weapons that seem to have vanished over the years is also a consideration.

I'd definitely buy a pack of those for all of the missing pieces I've lost over the years.

Consider accessory packs for each line. G1, G2, Beast Wars, RiD, etc. Each released in different size classes and/or waves. You could replace all of those lost items.

Perhaps some packs simply dedicated to random generic weapons, as mentioned above. I like that idea too.

Basically, any of these ideas would be appreciated as long as Hasbro gave it some serious effort. That so far, seems to be the consensus here.

I'd be all-in for something like this IF it came with multiple blast effects that could be adjusted to fit into different sized guns. I'd also want some explosion effects along with the blast and plasma effects. Hasbro has these for some of their deluxe Marvel Legends and Star Wars Black Series.

Tamashii makes some cool explosion effects as well.

generally would not, but i did buy a few 3D printed accessories/weapons, so it would depend on the accessories/weapons.

As I've said before, the problem with this would be the greed of Hasbro, when accessories might get cut from the released figure and only included in a separately purchased accessory pack.

Which was pretty well displayed most recently with Earthrise Optimus Prime, and having Roller only available in a separate weapons pack.

If they want to supply accessory packs like the old Masters of the Universe line, which came with a bunch of random, recolored accessories that came with figures and playsets already, I'd be great with that.

If they just fill it with things that could have/should have come with figures but didn't? Yeah, no.

Well then, let's hope someone at Hasbro is actually paying attention.

Some sort of mainline distributed accessory packs is something we collectors would like to see.
