That robot mode is actually looking surprisingly good to me, but yikes is the alt mode terrible.

Awww! It's good to see there's still lil kid Transformers out there considering they may not latch on to the Seige figs as much as older collectors.

What specifically don't you like about his alt mode? I ask because I was literally just thinking "the alt mode looks alot better than the POTP one" so I'm wondering if theres someone grievous I'm missing.

the hollow neck, stumpy/tiny lower legs, boxy under carriage and large swaths of smooth or mostly smooth cheap looking grey plastic.... the grey doesn't look quite as bad in robot mode because what's facing forward has more sculpted detail, more angles and is broke up by more colors

the hollow neck is the big one, that looks super trashy and cheap to me

his heads a bit overly "cartoony" but it's working for him, has a lot of personality.

    Eh, not bad I suppose.

I think the Dinobot designs themselves look perfectly passable, just wish they were being used in something more noteworthy.

I was just a LITTLE bit too young to get most of the original 84-86 cast when they were out (I was born in '83), so for about a decade-- until the internet became a somewhat common thing in the late '90s, actually-- I thought the Slugslinger toy I had bought back in '88 or '89 was Starscream. True story. It was gray and a jet and a Decepticon, I honestly didn't look that far into it 'cause I was a kid and used the toys I had the way I wanted to use them. (I also thought the Seacons were Sharkticons.) So when people say "There's no way kids will fall for that, it looks nothing like the show!" I'm always like yeeeeeeeeeaahhhhno.

    Does anyone actually buy these?

Other than collectors who find no Generations products on shelves? Cuz, Ive been there: u buy a second choice, knowing full well Hasbro will eventually release an SS86 version...

And if u say, "kids buy these!!!" Is that kids saving up to own these toys, or TF-Dads encouraging/promoting their hobby on offspring? I dont honestly watch toy shelves enuf to know, but Hasbro makes a lotbof Cyberverse, so presumably, people buy these.

To b fair, the Siege cartoon is pretty awful. Im watching it now. Characters r as hollow as current Hasbro toys (not an accident? :lol ). Kids got bored instantly.

That said, art/CG is amazing. Fire the "writers", keep everyone else, and try again. I guess fire the director, too - he's conspiring w writers...:sly:

    ME.
I buy the hell out of these.
    Cyberverse Rocks.
Many of them are my first choice. NOT second choice. I bought 2 Iaconus.... One to transform and display; one to keep mint in package. Same with Cyberverse Deluxe Optimus. I got 3 of the One-Step Bludgeons for when I inevitably wear one or two out. I prefer the look and feel of Cyberverse Deluxe Hot Rod to his more expensive SS86 version.

Granted, some of the toys hold no appeal for me - Scout Class specifically. However, that's the exception. I'm far more excited about that Cyberverse Sludge than I am SS86 Slag. Sludge looks like fun to transform. SS86 Slag will look good on a shelf, but not as fun to transform as Sludge.

    Cyberverse Forever!

Well I can’t really say I was ever that type of kid. I remember when my uncle showed me his G1 Transformers for the first time. He tried to convince me that G1 Sideswipe was really Jazz and I was like yeah no. When Animated first started I hated the deluxe Bumblebee because the feet went the wrong direction. Although I realize not every kid was like this.

As a big fan of Sludge this is a must buy for me. And yes, i too would rather have this than studio series slag ( or grimlock for that matter)

Kids didn’t care about screen accuracy in the 80s even.

But really, when you see Luke Skywalker in modern movies and shows, you want him to look like 70s era Mark Hamill and not, say, Chris Rock.

Yeah, I still prefer the original though.

He really looks nice, I especially love the blue instead of black for his head.

I was just thinking about if GPS will be an issue for new Sludge here. That head looks very gold.

Is that gold paint, not gold plastic? How can you tell?

Same color as the gold painted parts and it looks like the head is molded with the neck

You think? Darn, I hope not. I thought that head was a separate head with a jaw hinge. If it's molded with the neck, I'll still like this Sludge, but that would be a little disappointing.

It's a cyberverse ultra class figure, while they're decent you are much better off with lower expectations :)  it's possible it's got a separate jaw, but it's still gray plastic. The head would be molded to the neck and painted gold in this scenario. The jaw is exactly the same gold, so again paint and the center of the dino mode "ear" area (where the jaw would hinge from) is the same gray as the neck.
