this looks like they've blended the animated and BW designs into one, i like it, it looks great.

 

some people are saying that tonton might have him despite not providing any proof, i dont believe them but hopefully we get a reveal sometime in the next 2 months, august at the latest probably

 

That, and the figure definitely took its inspiration design wise from the T30 mold. There are quite a few similarities

 

it looks like a completely new mold, the arms look similar but thats it, i'd say that this is better than the T30s mold simply because i wont have to pay 3 times his normal price for this one

 

There's similarities to the 2 moulds because they're both based on the same core design, that's all

Awww, it looks like he doesnt come apart into bits, I kinda expected Hastak to finally do that with a Waspinator since we've had the Weaponizers, Modulators, and Fossilizers already, I really expected him to be the culmination of what Hastak could do with the idea

 

I've seen a few folks say his legs looked too thick, but I we all could stand to take a look at photos of real-life wasps. They don't have whip-thin legs or anything.

The figure looks mistransformed, now that I'm looking at it. Not counting the chest, the feet have the heels flipped the wrong way.

Another cool thing I noticed is that the antennae look like they're on ball joints. I know people don't like the thickened antennae and legs, but I like them, gives them less of a chance to break. Also, the figure doesn't have the wing-flap gimmick from the T30 figure, which, while it didn't obstruct anything horribly in the figure (it's placed in a good spot, and hey, it's not Universe Cheetor), feels like it contributed to a lack of a waist swivel, as the waist had to be stemmed to the bee waist. I hope they actually give him a waist, but if they don't, it's not gonna be the end of the world; Blackarachnia doesn't have one either.

Dude had the Kingdom Wave 1 figures before they even got revealed, wouldn't doubt him having Waspinator.

 

Looking at it again, I think his legs as a whole are transformed in the robot mode picture. His kneejoint looks backward and they hardly ever put big gaps like that front-facing.


Also, correct me if I'm wrong...but does his bot mode mouth look poseable?

 

Like half of the BW figs are too big or too small at this point. I don't think scale was ever as much of a consideration for the BW figs as it was for the G1 figs.

This looks okay. It does look like the bug head splits open for more detail, so we'll have to see what that looks like. But other than this maybe having a waist swivel, there's no reason whatsoever for me to replace my T30 version. It definitely looks better than this one overall (I will give this new one the checkmark for much better wings). Also, it's probably smaller anyway.

Still, it definitely looks like a good figure for those that missed the T30 version.

 

If they were actually to scale, most of the BW characters would be shin high next to Optimus Prime. Maybe they are going to reorganize the way BW characters scale to each other differently than the original series?

I have the T30 Waspinator, but will definitely be grabbing this too. I think it looks neat.

 

That's a damning comparison when you get them side by side in the same pic.

"Hey gang. Remember when you couldn't display your original Beast Wars Waspinator figure close to other figures because it's insect legs jutted out, but that was then remedied by the T30 version? Well now you can relive those frustrating days with the new Kingdom Waspinator!"

 

bruh i dont really care about scale, as long as he isnt too small, i'd like him to be at least kingdom cheetor scale at best

 

I think I see some animated color influence. I'm excited about this mold. I think I see why people are saying to T30 holds up. But while the bot mode of T30 looks good, his floppy joints and and Wasp mode are definately inferior to Kingdom. And we really need to see the chest transformed properly to finish a bot mode judgement.

 

In this case a simple reissie of CHUG waspy would have done it
