I've had five copies of the mold (the original and the four Botcon decos) and never had a problem. Supposedly the issue is some copies get stress marks on the shoulder hinge, not a widespread case of the shoulders just completely busting apart.

    Not bad, this looks alright!

I still think I prefer the T30 one, but this one looks okay.

Looks like Waspy to me. I dont see what all the fuss is about. Where yall want them to hide the bug legs ? I got Thrilling 30 too. Ill probably just display that one in bug mode and this one in robot mode.

Yea at first glance he looked bad, but he’s definitely better than T30 in terms of proportions. The issue is with the bug legs. IDK why they needed to eff up the transformation like that.

Really feels like they went half assed on the characters that already got chug figures

I'm liking him better than the T30 version outside of the bug legs. Surprised he's better painted than T30.

Regarding the wasp eyes, that's accurate to a number of species of wasps. Funnily enough, though, it doesn't seem to be accurate for the Waspinator's species. Points to the designers for trying at least.

    Eh…

    1) It’s 2021. Why are potato quality pics still a thing?

    2) If this is legit, this is a big step backwards from T30. Easily the worst looking Beastformer in Kingdom thus far

I like it... not sure if I'll replace my T-30 version. Going to have to wait for the reviews before I decide.

... What's the going rate for T30 or LG-EX Waspy these days (CAD)? Weighing my options here.

As I mentioned in several posts, it isn't. If anything is actually a big improvement over many aspects.

Sure hope those bug legs can be repositioned a bit differently for a slightly cleaner look.

I really like the T30. Just like T30 Rhinox it fits in great with the Kingdom line. But the restricted knees and the lack of ankle and waist articulation hurts it. Thats assuming the Kingdom one has waist articulation.
I like the purple but as of now I prefer the single looking wing of the T30. The disappointment for me is that this Waspinator also lacks a show accurate abdomen.

The thing I don't get about Waspinator is why he was designed to have a partial bug butt in robot mode. Why not just have the whole thing split apart to form legs?

Looks great! Only if the bug legs were properly aligned in bot mode it would have been fantastic

Because Wasps and bees are universally known as "that one animal who can sting you with their butt", so having a stinger in robot mode adds great flavoring to their silhouette that fits their animal's theme. It's all in the name of good ol' fun.

Wings: 1st glance made me think "butterfly" not wasp, 2 wings molded as 1 piece close together on 1 ball joint
insect legs: too thick and hindmost legs should be noticeably longer than the other 4
beast mode body: could just be the angle, but combined with the look of the legs its very squat-looking... a sculpt change to the beast face could have this easily accepted as something from Apis
robot facesculpt: best thing I can see here, like 90% perfect
robot mode overall: to me it looks like a wasted effort for a "new" mold, with obvious compromises from the show model, which I would expect to not have in lieu of the supposed "go off-model to real-world accurate for the beast mode".

I'm focusing on the robot feet, knees, and groin pieces and how they move in conversion. I'm seeing A LOT of similarity to T30, enough to make me accept the possibility (despite what's already been said) that this is a heavily customized T30.

It's almost like they took T30, specifically removed the flap gimmick and just compacted the robot arms instead of them being like the running boards the T30 had. Then new beast face, wings, robot face and shins, and done.... subjectively speaking.

Seems like he is mistransformed. There is a seam in the middlfe of wasp head and I don't think Hasbro would omitt splitted wasp head. Also feet are not transformed so so heels point towards the front with the feet. Overall all looks more like a real wasp(apart from being green).

Well this does not look any better than the Generations toy... I see still no waist rotation, plus why the weird purple wings? Pass. I like the old one better.
Also the sides of the wasp mode look really bad.

His torso is pretty obviously mistransformed (considering it's got a split down the middle), should always wait for official shots to actually determine what a figure is supposed to look like
