Scavenger #3- Krok (Printed and assembled) Scavenger #2- Misfire (Printed and unpainted) Scavenger #1- Crankcase A few days ago I’ve completed a model of Swerve. Upon suggestion, I took this mold and turned him into MTMTE Crankcase. I have to say he oddly fits Swerve’s base mold. I changed up his parts to make him resemble Crankcase. He stands at a small deluxe size. And after having him printed I decided I maybe want to have the team sooner. Bah! You’ve seen it written down but never heard it said out loud! Crankcase was made to be more slender in physique with all new parts, except for his fists. There were the parts on the body I want to perfect, like the wheels that hang outside his calves instead of Swerve’s tucked in leg Wheels. Gave him more steps than Swerve since he’ll have a new alt mode. A sort of made up one. When I attached his lower cannon I slotted it in angled down. Looks fine in robot mode but sort of droopy in alt mode. My excuse is it fits the character, I guess. I plan to do Nickel whenever I’m free next, then Fulcrum and then Misfire. Those are the ones I like and would be likely to prioritise, but I do aim to complete the Scavengers team probably across a longer span of time, so just decided to create a thread for all of them.
Nice. I didnt realize how much taller this was. The scale is pretty good. The person who suggested this must be really cool.
The coolest for suggesting him. Wouldn’t have crossed my mind that Crankcase would be a good one for a quick retool. Cheers!
I’ve finished painting Crankcase. Planning to release him in a 2 pack with Nickel, which is a project in the future. Got a few projects in between.
I’ve been planning on a Nickel, and lately been really thinking about making a Grimlock. But there’s a few G1/ Animated things I work on before I return to MTMTE. But I always go back to MTMTE designs.
I’ve decided to return to the Scavengers now and am planning to work on Krok and Nickel now. I’ve started work on Krok but this week I’ve completed designing and printing MTMTE Misfire. It’s quite interesting this time around designing Misfire’s transformation because looking at his back kibble in the comics, it looked like he transforms the opposite way all the other Misfires do. His dual ‘nosecones’ end up on his lower back hanging like a back skirt flap as opposed to right on top like a backpack. I’ve put in Landing gears on the back of his arms that would turn into the back half of the jet in alt mode. This is the first time I’ve put in a landing gear in any design, although I’ve done a few flying vehicles in the past. This will definitely be an aspect I will keep in my future projects. I’m also quite happy with the articulation I put in, gave him some finger articulation as well as outwards on the wrist plus rotation. Krok is next, I’ve worked on his head and since he doesn’t need to transform, I’ll add as much articulation as I can and he should be done really soon as well. Thanks for reading and comments are always welcome!
I hope we get to see the Scavengers with the LL crew to see where they scale! I assume they'd be about MMC scale, given your Ratchet, but I could be wrong. Lovely work nevertheless!
Yes, they’ll be around MMC scale. I do hope to display them next to Planet X’s Idw Grimlock in the future.
Here’s Misfire (right side) in my really crowded MTMTE shelf. I’ve cleared out a small portion of shelf space for the future Scavengers. The ones on the left side are more CHUG scale, using Generations Skids mostly as a base reference and the ones on the right uses Rodimus/ Magnus as reference.
I'll tell you this, that cast is making me want to abandon a CHUG-verse(?) MTMTE crew. You are truly a master of creation, my friend.
Krok is now all printed and assembled. All the joints work very well and I’m very happy with him. I gave him a big double-barrelled gun as well.
Krok was an action master and don’t think he had an alt mode in MTMTE. I always remember him either in a cockpit or hanging off Spinister’s landing thing. But in exchange, with the transformation element out of the way, I was able to add more articulation to the figure, first successful ab crunch that doesn’t break the sculpt, ankle tilts, rotation etc.
