Very good premiere. I was worried that Loki was old hat at this stage but this seems interesting. I reckon Loki will actually be on the ball that a lot of the "sacred timeline" propaganda will be just that and unveiled as BS.

WOW, this was good. Good good good. Yeah, this is already my favorite Marvel Disney + series, and unless it spectacularly blows it at the end it'll remain so.

Also, I laughed so hard at Infinity Stones just being used as paperweights. Oooh, that was good.

I also want a toy of Miss Minute, oddly enough.

Wife and I just watched this and it was really enjoyable. Can't wait to see where this goes and I'm going to guess that
Lady Loki is the variant Mobius wants Loki's help hunting... otherwise why would they have kept the variant hidden at the end?

I agree. Especially since Dr. Strange 2 and Spidey 3 are supposed to deal with the Multiverse and Kang is supposed to be in Ant-Man 3.

A very solid well done first episode.

Given if this is how the rest of this series plays out, it might be building more character to this alternate Loki than what we've seen with the original one. Then again, that might be because of Dark World's shortcomings. The only other Loki movies being Ragnarok which was more Thor focused and Infinity War which practically started off with his death scene.

I take it they're now retconning Endgame's time travel rules, where going back into the past doesn't change the future. But in this show it actually does and the time keepers do the reset timeline bombs stuff? They must've had a field day then with replacing Thanos to GOTG 2014's timeline.

Great first episode. Really handled a lot of exposition well. Also, I didn't realize Wunmi Mosaku was in this show. Loved her in Lovecraft Country.

No everything in Endgame was meant to happen except Loki escaping. Nothing about their time travel rules were retconned so I'm thinking it means there's only a certain amount of alternate timelines they want and Loki escaping isn't one of them.

That was a genuinely surprising and quite excellent episode. I'm hooked.

I'll be one of the first to admit that I've been frustrated by a lot of choices being made lately in the MCU, but if Loki and the following movies can maintain this level of quality then I'm excited and willing to keep watching. It could definitely go south fast considering how WandaVision ended, but I'm feeling optimistic.

I have a theory - Sam Beckett from Quantum leap was the first agent of the TVA - Discuss.

While this was fun for Loki alone, it also kinda was a re-tread of all the events that happened to the other Loki, trying to bring this version up to date... but you cannot really do all that character development. I did like that even the TVA points out Loki attacking Earth was not mischievous at all - in fact I often feel (and the movie suffered for it) that Loki was a last minute addition to the script and was not supposed to be in Avengers, but he became way too popular in Thor and was shoehorned in. It still makes little sense, his random alliance to Thanos (which never comes up again until Infinity War), him attacking Earth, not Asgard, or his weird obsession with mind control and rage against free will (again, completely forgotten after Avengers). Maybe that was supposed to be a different villain, perhaps Thanos himself, saying these lines?
Gotta say I did a double-take after seeing Owen Wilson's name. It seems like just a decade ago that he was Fred in Scooby Doo and now he looks like an old man! Also was his nose broken or something? Time (ironically) was not kind to him. But his acting is as good as ever.
The TVA is really harsh (despite the cartoon with the Tara Strong voiced clock-girl trying to explain how their work is for the betterment of all), but this also makes Endgame make even less sense now, because apparently, there is NO multiverse. All those alternate timelines they visited and where they needed to bring the stones back, they were pruned right afterwards by the TVA, so they do not exist anymore. Which also makes me wonder how another Loki can exist, when did he escape?
I also assume this is all a setup for the whole "Multiverse of Madness" thing coming in Dr Strange 2.
I did like all the tech being outdated and retro, it is like the WH40K Tech Priests, who are in awe of their tools and afraid to update them.
Overall looking forward to where this goes, but 6 episodes seems kinda short.

Why? Is Kang gonna be in Ant-Man? I assumed they are saving someone as powerful as him for the next Avengers.

What they say and show in the diagrams clearly shows there is only one main "sacred" timeline. So my guess is, the time travel was supposed to happen, they let things run until the Avengers returned the stones, then pruned those timelines immediately.
Which likely also suggests Captain America just went back in time, but stayed in this main timeline.

You can use 'Ol Tic-Toc from Botbots, or his repaint for that. :)
THe paperweight stones kinda were a stupid thing. Yes, it was nice to use them to show how powerful the TVA is, sure... but anyone can grab a bunch of them, go out into the timeline and they will work again and you'll be omnipotent. So it is kinda reckless to leave them lying around. Maybe a clerk gets tempted one day? In fact, would not be surprised if Loki has pocketed a Time Stone (he was lifting one up).

That was likely a reference to the horned helmet Loki used to wear.

You forget that Loki has illusion powers? He can literally appear as anyone. They are likely just wanting to keep his new appearance a surprise, but I feel it will be regular Loki who will take that form throughout the show for some reason.

think its kinda funny that the MCU is referred to as the "sacred timeline". that sounds a bit 4th wallish to me and as a viewer my assumption would then be that

the timekeepers have this timeline in their best interest due to

    1) material possesions - whether power, items or wealth, this timeline is what suits them best

    2) self preservation - this is the only timeline where all 3 still exist

    or

    3) goals/plans - this is the only timeline where their end goals are achieveable

I just thought it was funny that the mcu was deemed as sacred and everything that came before it, disposable or non relevant. reminds me a lot of how the disney showrunners treated the starwars legacy stuff :lol  maybe it was a subtle jab :lol

Future Nebula kills Past Nebula --- Doesn't affect time I guess?
Some guy is late for work --- Time to die for sake of time itself!

That was Freddie Prinze Jr. if thinking about the live action Scooby-Doo. They greyed Owen up for the show, he's still blonde in real life, albeit it is dulling in color. His nose has been broken since high school from a football accident.
