This is why I'm getting these. They fit with the micromasters/minions/WST figures I've collected over the years. I was waiting to see what color scheme Soundwave was going to get, because I actually prefer to buy one with Beachcomber than Galvatron. But that would be out if it was some kind of Shattered Glass repaint instead. Really looking forward to this set!

I thought this one was classic toon Soundwave. I remember another set with Soundwave in toy colors that looked pretty good. I think he was planned to be paired with a darker Galvatron.

Wow, can't wait for this one to arrive!

I have all of their Cassettes so far, plus both colorways of the Galvy / Soundwave set - super impressed by the quality and amount of fun they are able to cram into such a teeny tiny package and will definitely immediately Pre-Order any and all figures they have in the pipeline.

Thanks! Beachcomber looks amazing! (I know compared to NA or IF his paint job doesn't look that great, but you got realize how tiny he is).
And to echo what others said I am ready for a lot more of these figures. I really hope a Hot Rod is in works.

Certainly understandable, but I love the idea of a company carving out a niche for itself by focusing on figures specifically as companion pieces to the main line. I love that they have done cassette tapes for War For Cybertron Soundwave, and that they're doing minibots compatible with War For Cybertron Modulators. I just wish Beachcomber here had ball joints rather than hinges. I get that he's tiny, but it's still a little disappointing that he has so little articulation.

Im all in for the cassettes because as you said they are "companion pieces" for Soundwave. But this isnt a companion piece to anything. Its f**king Beachcomber. Hasbro hasnt made a golden lagoon lol. And dont tell me the Ark. Beachcomber is the last character Id be worried about if I wanted 4-5 main characters to display with the Ark. And technically these still arent in scale with the ark. Thats why they made the rubber little red Prime that looks like a bloody booger.

Not true - these are intended to complement Micro Masters and their Bases [or in WFT terms: Modulators, as @LoserBroadside mentioned above].

They've used Modulators in several of their promo images, and as a complement to that play pattern they are completely awesome. Also really fun little pocket toys.

Not sure why they chose Beachcomber instead of a more iconic minibot like Bee, but he's adorable so I'm happy to have him. Maybe the designer just loves the character? Anyhow, hard to mad about this:

Still hoping they release some more Cassettes, and although I'm not a Bayverse fan at all I own their Scalpel and Mohawk figures [both colors of Mohawk actually] just because they are cool little toys, so I wouldn't mind seeing them return to that well at some point in the future.

I bought Hothouse and Ironworks to display these guys with, in addition to Omega Supreme and Skylynx.
I only have Galvatron and Soundblaster so far, but the look good with the Micromasters Hasbro recently released.
They scale pretty well with the PotP Pretenders released a few years ago too.

Absolutely. I mean Omega Supreme CAME with a Micromaster, and he hooks up with the Micromaster base Modulators. Plus the Modulators are all based on G1 Micromaster bases, so it makes sense that they would go along with, well, Micromasters. I don't think it's a stretch at all to refer to Beachcomber and tiny Prime here as companion pieces to the line.

That makes zero sense. Why would I want Beachcomber to be the size of a micromaster ? Micromasters are their own scale and in scale with CHUG. Hasbro did a perfectly in scale Beachcomber a few years ago for POTP. Not to mention, Hasbro left most of the micromaster teams incomplete. Dr. Wu could be completing the teams doing characters like Tailwind. (Or more cassettes) Instead they do Season 1-2 characters in a brand new scale nobody asked for. Missed opportunity.

I guess that works if you dont care about scale. Technically micromasters are already in scale with the rest of CHUG. They are spies and scouts. They were never meant to be the same size are full size robots.

Maybe you're just not the target audience for these figures then, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Personally, I love them and welcome this new scale. I am not tied to Micro Masters having to be any specific size compared to Minibots or Carbots, I just like having cool, tiny Transformers to pose on bases and battle stations. Being able to add some iconic characters to this world is amazing.

    EDIT to add:

You said: "Dr. Wu could be completing the teams doing characters like Tailwind. (Or more cassettes)" and I agree with that 100%! I'd love to see some 3P MicroMasters [I believe MFT was planning to do this via a line of Go-Bots characters] and more Cassettes are always welcome.

I never really thought Micromasters made much sense as being that tiny in fiction. I know the originals were created by Hasbro to jump on the Micromachine market, but it would have made more sense to treat them similar to Transformers Prime's toyline. Characters available in multiple scales but in television/comics scaled to regular sized Earth vehicles.

Kinda like what IDW did with Stakeout.

Edit: plus tiny versions of characters make Titan scale figures appear even large.

I was about to post something critical of 'Rated X', But I thought better of it.

Anyway, if Magic Square didn't make these guys already...I'd snap them up...

They look great. I just wish somebody would make the Micromasters "forgotten" by hasbro...

I always separated out my Micromasters as a different group. I loved it when Minicons came along to fill the ranks even more (until their transformations started turning to crap), but ESPECIALLY when WSTs showed up and fit right in. Suddenly, it was some of the old cast with a whole slew of teammates behind them.

This is just going to make that whole thing better. I definitely picked the right two-pack for me to get Soundwave, as he's painted/colored right and Beachcomber was one of my first toys as a kid. Also have Prime ordered. I want to see more of this stuff.

Well I never got into the comic fiction but if I remember correctly, the toy scale is about spot on with the comics. The only cartoon fiction would be in the 88 toy comercial which I believe featured a micromaster base fitting in the palm of a regular robots hand which makes little sense unless you want to believe its a war within a war. For the sake of having a fiction at all, Id say the comic scale is probably the best way to go and see them as mini spies. After 1985 they basically flished the whole "robots in disguise" theme down the toilet by putting all kinds of cybertronian vehicles, animals, and scales on Earth. So it doesnt have to make too much sense but at least be reasonable.
