Does this fix the screw holes in his Dino-head? That’s honestly my biggest complaint with the figure. They're pretty awful.

I'd rather get a new head for the Rex-mode than clear neck pieces. Maybe they'll do that for a separate upgrade?

 

Staying with my Toyworld Grimshell while SS86 Grimlock warms the shelves...I'll preorder it for the Wheelie though and sell the other stuff.

That is a good replacement for the Wheelie, for sure... I might get it just for that... But then I likely also will just remove the SS86 Wheelie head to place on the DNA Body. I think they got the face sculpt right even if they made him a literal brick with 6 posable joints in total.

 

I think the odd looking alt mode is to prepare for it to be remolded into the Daniel Exo suit fig for the Dinobot Slag leader add on kit..

Btw don't fret too much about the color matching and stuffs. DNA are generally receptive on fan feedbacks via their FB page

 

Thanks to another poster (@St Firebringer ) in another thread it looks like the DNA Wheelie should be about the same size as the TR mold

 

I've never bought one of these sets before. Do those "space fillers" have to be removed for transformation?

 

No. The arm ones are hinged and will rotate out of the way of the hands. The feet ones aren't in the way of anything.

 

I was thinking of this too, and wonder if it's possible.

 

If they throw in a more transparent chest plate I'm in. Otherwise something that lets you mount the gun in dino mode normally, but honestly I didn't have too many gripes about the figure to begin with.

 

Both those are out there, but in varying quality. Nonnef has a clear chest, but it doesn't screw in. It's also slightly different than the stock shape and only ships to the US. I have one and I think it's great. Stays in place well, looks good.
@MegaMoonMan has a piece to attach the gun in dino mode, but it's just a file you need to print. It's on his Cults page. I don't have a printer, so I don't know how well it works first hand. His stuff is usually fantastic from what I've read though.

The internal details were already there. The original neckpiece is also translucent plastic, but painted over in gold.

 

I'm not the target audience for this upgrade but wooooww! I am simply amazed at all it offers! Truly remarkable! I fully transformable mini Wheelie? All the weapons and fillers you'd come to expect from an upgrade release PLUS replacement claws and neck piece? Am I wrong if I refer to this as the best upgrade set for SS Grimlock? Woow.

The thing that kills me is it essentially doubles the price. I don't feel that an upgraded ss grimlock and wheelie are worth $100.

 

Yeah, price is crazy. (Edit: had originally thought this might be 3D printed as I've never bought their product--but being resin cast and still $50 is even worse)

I loved the idea of it until I found out about that dollar amount. Good luck to them, I guess. Happy with my Nonnef kit.

Their products have always been injection molded plastic.

 

i would pay 20 for this wheelie for sure. but 50 for the kit is a little high if you ask me.

 

As I said on Twitter.... meh. Nonnef\'s upgrades plus TR Wheelie is a better bang for your buck.
