LoL… upgrade kit? sorry but nothing is being upgraded, as that would imply you have something already in place to combine, but you can't combine without buying this. wonder if it's just bad wording on ShowZ part, or a bad translation or something. really should be called something else, like "combiner" kit.

Now is it still a combiner if it's technically "optional"?
Not trying to be a shill for Magic Square, but at least their Menasor frame/trailer is bundled with Motormaster.
What NA should be done is turn it into a parts bundle with their pack

I'm surprised this round!! Greatly preferred NA to MS. This time MS individual bots seem much more show accurate and solid. NA look pretty hollow and not as good as MS. I like NA combined mode more as it capture toon devy better. But honestly it's due to more fake parts...

Giving this round to MS for the first time and I'm personally buying both.

I guess it's an Upgrade kit to form the combiner...

Eh, the frame being included with Motormaster is why he cost $130. I feel like the number of boxes I end up with is irrelevant compared to the full price of the set.

On that front, I'm more annoyed that the early math (3 two packs at $75 a pop) suggested lower all-in price. Hopefully NA doesn't try to bilk us for the kibble.

If the Devy skeleton is more than $50...I'll be pretty bummed. I know that it has diecast and LEDs but it's a non transforming skeleton that is worthless without the other bots

I wish we would get some Legends-sized Micromaster Sixteams. Newage’s whole frame for Devy made me think of them, but the way Magic Square’s pieces combine to form a sort of abstract vehicle is even more reminiscent of them.

I thought Magic Square was going to do the whole "Motormaster's trailer forms the frame" thing. It's really the most elegant solution and solves a few problems specific to the Stunticons.

I've been pretty big on NewAge right from the get-go, but this is... disappointing. I mean, the Magic Square Menasor is arguably even worse, but at least that big robot actually transforms into something.

Yeah, MS's Devastator does this as well, but in a much more effective way.

Oh yeah, that's totally fair - sorry that I took what you were saying as a more general statement.

Yup, absolutely same for me. I'm hoping that at least the paint and finish will be nice, the way they typically are on NewAge products.

"Combiners" from now on to be called "Upgraders".

Well now I don't feel so bad for canceling my pre-orders. I was on the fence about it, but having to buy a 4th item to make Devastator put the nail in the coffin for what I feel is an already a pricey endeavor.

Man, you guys are looking at this all wrong. Newage Devy only requires a single additional piece, while Magic Square requires a whopping five.

I'm quickly settling on a dependable formula for my legends (exceptions made when necessary):

New age for seekers and carbots and minibots.
Magic square for leaders, combiners and maybe some midsize bots.
MFT for larger headmaster, triplechanger bots

These NA constructions just firmed it up. Do not like their combiner approach at all.

well technically, "combining" any TF combiner… past, present and future… is optional. anyone has the choice to keep their set as individual bots and never combine them. :p
