(Note: I actually found a stupidly cheap secondhand reselling of both within a cute lil bundle, I just wanted to know which one is overall better)

I wanted to replace my old broken TR Blitzwing with a new one, especially since he's my favorite Triple Changer. I might just have the opportunity to buy both the T30 and TR Blitzwing, so I wanted to know which one was better

Tr one by a long shot. The old t30 one is notorious for not being the best figure

Yeah, 100% Titans Return. T30 is pretty janky.

Depends on what you want out of your Generations Blitzwing.

T30 leans very heavily into the Animated version, with its face-changing, cockpit chest, and tread legs. There are the issues of paint clogging up the helmet, which may hamper the face-turning, and also the shoulders (I should mention there are plenty of solutions on the internet for, both reversible and permanent). Also, there's the bigger sword and the not-seatgun rifle, though the latter is too small for Voyager hands in my personal opinion.

Titans Return's issues, apart from the smaller sword and painted thighs maybe making transformation slightly more difficult than it should, stem from releasing during Titans Return: pre-applied stickers (and how they can be misaligned/peeling out of the box), the head removal (depending on how you feel about TR), and the stubborn-to-turn head platform that the spring-loaded panels come out of. The only thing I can really say about it is that it certainly looks like G1 Blitzwing, just with small concessions here and there. Personally, it's the one that I'm sticking with.

Ideally, TR with T30's weapons would make for an excellent display Blitzwing.

Neither. The TR mold is better though, so go with LG Blitzwing for the fact that he has paint instead of crummy stickers that peel.

The included Mammoth Missile gun certainly doesn't hurt, either.

If you really want to wait, there's rumors of a Leader Blitzwing next year.

Got both as I'm a bit fan of plane/jet thing, and TF by far. While Generation looks ok, in hand he's a bit of a mess, hard to transform, scary to break due to lots of thin panels and parts, and most require a fix (that I never bothered with) for him to snap together properly.

Titans Return is an amazing figure by comparison. Heck, if they had found a way to hide his head, he'd be pretty much perfect as Blitzwing figures go. Seems we're getting a Leader Class mold in Legacy next year or the year after that, the same size and quality as the Siege/Earthrise Astrotrain. I'm guessing it'll be better than the TR version (or at least more accurate looking) but we might be surprised and the TR might still come out on top.

I Already developed the patience of a vulture after trying to tighten PoTP Grimlock and Siege Ironhide's shoulders without knocking out the pins for a whole week (Spoilers: the Ironhide still loosens up :banghead: )

I had my T30 in a bin in my closet. Took him out recently and the nosecone broke off when I tried to transform him. The head had stuck to the faces. Aside from the shoulders that won’t lock, it has some weird design choices. The arms on top of the jet and those feet.
Despite the peeling stickers, TR is an improvement. In mine, getting the wings to stay tabbed in tank mode is challenging. Hazard is exposed for battle. The winner is the jet mode... with the turret hanging underneath.

Yeah, even though I don't own the TR Blitzwing, from looks alone, it's definitely better compared to the T30 one... because the T30 one is a disappointment on so many levels.

I’m the odd one out it looks like. I vastly prefer the Generations version over the TR. Now I didn’t have TR Blitzwing but I did have Megatron and it’s mostly the same and I just did not like that toy. Robot was passable, tank was okay, but even then I found those real compromised and then the jet form was bad. I find all three modes on the Generations figure to be pretty good and I think overall it’s a good figure. The issues definitely weigh it down but I’ll still take that over that poor TR mold.

Megatron doesn’t do the mold justice, and the Legends TR Blitzwing is even better than the Hasbro release. Try finding one on eBay to compare with the T30 and see how you feel after? I like the T30 but he went straight in the storage bin once I picked up the Hasbro TR version on sale and it made me go after the nicer looking deco. He’d be perfect if he wasn’t a headmaster imo.

I've considered it, but even Blitzwing's colors and mold differences don't look all that good to me. Just that mold in general isn't good. I had the chance to get it on clearance at Walmart in mid to late 2017 and could never do it.

Fair enough, although I think that it does depend on what you want for your CHUG collection also as mine is mostly G1 based these days and the IDW stuff got phased out and replaced with third party IDW instead. The brighter colours on the Legends mold really do look nice in person however. I remember a reviewer saying the LG version reminded them of some flavour of ice cream lol I think it was Chefatron and I couldn’t agree more.

I can pick up the TR version and mess around with it without being annoyed by it unlike T30 where even though I tried to fix the shoulders they just still wouldn’t work properly and it was beginning to rub me the wrong way so into storage he went .
