Are these the two most expensive main line toys to find from the beast era? Not counting lucky draws obviously

 

Rampage is such a good figure, the purple and the chrome really pop.

 

I'd love to know if MP Primal would fit in there.

 

It's.. it's beautiful!!! I want one!!! I read through three article but didn't see a price.

By the looks of it, those are all the old deluxes, and the new Kingdom Primal, so I doubt MP Primal will fit in it.

Then again, it is a 3D pod, so I'm sure you could just pay more for a bigger one.

Megatron: You Maximals or Predacons?

An old custom that I did many, many years ago, sometime in the early 00's.




For this I used an Optimal Optimus and a Primal Prime. The base is an Optimal Optimus, while the unpainted white parts (wings, shoulder pieces and the piece that holds the head) are from Primal Prime. Attempting to switch out parts thought me that Hasbro made some changes between the two releases resulting in parts not always going together well. I also lost sight of which knee joint ratchet belonged to which figure (and all the parts between them) thinking they were the same, and as a result the knees never were quite right.

Took some modifications to make the head work (drilled holes in the shoulder cannon assembly and added a rounded piece to prevent it leaning on the robot mode's antenna in ape mode). Also thought Magnus deserved a bigger gun for which I cut off the top piece of the Optimal gun, made a longer barrel, a new top piece and a scope. Paints were enamels from Revell and Humbrol (neither I would likely use now) and only after finishing the red parts did I notice the needle tip of my air brush was crooked, which resulted in the red being applied thicker than I'd like. Finished the whole with Humbrol base cote, which turned out to be extremely durable: I dropped the lower leg piece while inspecting the clear cote from eye height on a concrete floor...without a scratch. (Naturally, they stopped making the stuff.)

Colourwise, the robotmode took some preferance. I attempted to copy every little (colour) detail of the G1 figure to this mould. The base idea was to have a Magnus robot that looked like there was a white ape in armour beneath it, like the G1 figure being a white Optimus in armour. For this I painted the gorilla chest and every tuft of moulded fur white.

Hadn't touched it in years (save for cleaning) and transforming it again was a fright.


(Oh, and the remaining pieces are in my BW collection of BW era wreckers as Primal Prime with gray wings and pieces. Still plan to paint those metallic iron/steel for a Powered Convoy influence.)

Manny will always hold a special place in my heart. Probably my favorite OG-BW insect pred (generations waspy holds overall fave).

 

Especially after seeing what they did with K-9, I always wanted a fembot retool (or at least redeco) of this as one of the flower mimic species. But keep the psycho-smile... gotta have it.

Manterror's shot up to one of my favorite BW characters, purely because I characterize him as a bloodthirsty, stealthy soldier... who also likes making puns. It's the silly characterizations that can warm you up to a character.

There was going to be a black redeco of Manterror as a fembot that was going to be used as a BotCon exclusive, but that ended up being scrapped. Jai-Alai - Transformers Wiki
