Started working on Grandus. I can't figure out the transformation whatsoever. I don't know how to fit in the combination either, much less the parts assembly.

 

This will present quite the challemge for you. After all not only does it go from bot to vehicle mode but also becomes armor. For the armor you made from skygarry for star convoy

Question. The second image. Is that grandus combined with sky Garry? If so looking good

 

Not sure how to help but here’s some ideas
He’s a carrier so maybe put the carrier runway on his arms, have arms the flip back and around and also the arms slide up to condense size.
Have the legs go up and condense, then the toes flip around so they are flat down ORRRR add a second joint that can make it kinda like metroplex’s so the incline will hug the front


Or if u don’t like that maybe have the runway in his back like the g1 the foot is suppose to have a double hinge joint above btw

For transformation I mostly agree with @blastoff2334 except I think the arms should reach up instead of flip back. Dislocate the shoulder so they can be flush. Keep the runway kibble on his arms. This will make him go from stocky robot to a streamlined ship silhouette. I'd also suggest making the legs slightly narrower if possible. His feet can just fold down in alt mode. Maybe attach the tread armatures to the outside of the shoulders. The back treads can bulk up the lower legs in bot mode. Hope this is a clear description and helps out your problem. As for combination, I'd just suggest 5mm ports so they can double as articulation joins when it is on its own (like ss86 kup or the dinosaur things from kingdom)

Really enjoying this thread! My favorite part is getting a glimpse into your design process. I'm designing a figure right now and I kinda work out mechanisms and smaller components of the body as I go along, instead of blocking out the whole body and joining it together later- Fusion 360 is definitely well-suited to that though, as opposed to what I'm using.

I'm particularly impressed by the face sculpt- how did you go about getting it looking so nice? Surface modeling, or solid modeling with fillets and chamfers?

By the way, if you decide to reprint in different colors, eSun PLA Pro blue looks like it would be a much closer match to Prime's existing blue!
