I don't own both but I own almost every FT and XTB/KFC release. I would have gladly bought Spindrift 2.0 even though I already own Neptune if I thought it was better. It's not. I have watched several videos of Spindrift 2.0 and it is a fine bot that is leaps and bounds better than the original but Neptune just looks better and it is very high quality so I find that irrelevant in this case. Quality issues do matter and I can agree with you on some of XTBs stuff that is just sh1t (Overheat). As to Dunerunner, again I like Arkose with the detailed alt mode but is a bit on the smaller side. I prefer it but I may still look at Dunerunner at some point. Also a very good figure.

 

Anyone know what kind of blue paint works with this guy? Tamiya metallic blue, flat blue? I got a small scratch on him that i would like to fix

 

A few birdies and a golden hand and this would've been perfect. Still my favorite of all the MP Beachcombers.

Faceboook? Prices kinda suck on those two rn. I know TFSux has Dunerider, but is sold out of hunk(and will let your CC get stolen then lie and say it wasn't them). I know for a fact that Robotoybase has both, but their shipping can get spendy. Both are still gettable in China, and plenty of retailers make a side hustle out of buying off TB and flipping it to stateside consumers.

 

I want Dunerider... but not for what they're charging right now. If they reissue it for a reasonable price I'll get it, otherwise I'll just live with XTB Arkose.

Just came in today. Very impressed with it.

 

Found a used one for $125 shipped (plus sales tax, bleh) on eBay from a seller in Denver and took the plunge. Arkose and his vastly superior looking but insanely flimsy altmode can go with my "toy MP" group.  

 

Also got my favorite hippy from the season 2! The transformation is a pain tho

 

Transformation is easy, transform it a couple times, you'll be good

 

So finally got around to unboxing and transforming my Dunerunner. All is basically well, but a couple nagging things. First, the left headlight doesn't sit snug when you rotate it back to its alt mode position. I can press it on to the circle nub like you would with an external tab, but it causes the overall strut to flex, and it doesn't stay in position with too much movement of the toy. Second, the bottom panels that double fold (basically the last step in transforming to alt mode), _really_ don't want to seat all the way on the tabs. The overall panels hold well enough mainly due to friction, but not the most reassuring of tab ins. Bot mode is of course fine, and transformation is pretty easy for a FT figure so overall I am satisfied. I wish there was an easy way to tighten the front right strut/headlight though.

Define "reasonable". I know of about 5 shops that have one or more available, but you're looking at $140-165 shipped to the US (didn't check any other region).

 

I was hoping something closer to the original release price than the $140 I see everywhere.

Not a terrible late tax, I pre-ordered 2 by mistake before they first released. Completely forgot I'd locked in one at a good price, and paid $125 for the second one, so as low as $140 isn't as good as an early preorder, but not bad at all from launch over a year ago.

 

Literally bought one today for $139 shipped. Lowest I could find it. I think there’s still one on eBay for $140 and a couple more at the 144 mark after shipping
