probably but not one like PE of DNA did a downsized set. Someone made a 3D printed cab for mixmaster but to me the colors didn’t match enough to bother with it. There’s photos of it scattered throughout this thread of it

I'm still considering getting this to see if I can transplant the heads onto my TFC Hercules bots, who aside from Scrapper their heads don't really line up with the G1 designs. I've no idea if the heads on the KOs are a good size for that though.

Got a set off eBay for my head transplant experiment since it just wasn't possible to get an answer from anybody about the size comparison between the individual bots of this and TFC's Hercules. I was prepared for the heads to not be appropriately sized for that (aside from Long Haul), but what I wasn't expecting was many bad QC problems that the set can't even function on its own. I've got tabs that are too large for their corresponding pegholes, a second tab-part replacing a tabhole, tabs that are too long, parts that won't compress properly, it's a really bad time.

Going to see if I can sell these off for parts or something. Probably can't get my full money back, but maybe somebody with a good set can use them to fix theirs.

 

wow that really sucks, my set was pretty good, I wonder how widespread bad sets are?

It's suuuuper cheap, so you get what you pay for. It's like picking up drug store toys back in the day. I think that's kinda what these are made for in China.

 

Did your Bonecrusher have two tabbed-black hip parts instead of one tab and one tabhole for each hip?

Made a thread in BST about it, hasn't been approved yet, not feeling optimistic either way.

 

Got my Kubian Devy today - pretty much what I expected based on all the feedback I've read here, if not a little better.

I think the plastic quality itself is fine, the issue is just that things have been downsized wholesale and not reworked to account for the tolerances at this scale. A few of the clips will need sanding or softening a smidge, and I had a couple of non-essential ones snap on me already. I have the Takara UW version of the original but the quality of the paint apps is pretty comparable for most of them. Overall pretty impressed for what it is, and looks soooooo much better on the shelf in individual modes.

 

I read somewhere recently that the ones sold individually wrapped are a "bad run" while the ones sold in an actual box are a "good run", which did you get?

Mine was sold individually, and sounds like yours was better off.

 

As far as I know, the factory only sells them as a complete set, and not as individual bots. If you manage to find a seller that sells them individually, it's probably because he splits the set up.

 

Like Aoyi of BMB, some parts need to be replaced by diecast. Parts designed for 45cm products are not strong if they are reduced to 30cm.
