Apples and oranges. GI Joe figures were mass-produced for children with significantly higher unit production as well as far cheaper designs with less complexity. Modern Joe have significantly higher part counts and more complex tooling and paints apps and entirely different market.

You also oversimplified the cost of living in the US. Everything is so expensive yet everyone has iPhones, tablets, subscription services. Americans always cry poor with a flat screen TV. People had shit in the 80’s I remember it well.

Much appreciated! Ever since I got my Artic Mission Storm Shadow pre-order cancelled and never fulfilled by amazon, I a little scared of amazon exclusives!

Hopefully it does come back in stock and they do fulfill those subsequent pre-orders :)

It’s interesting how rage over not being able to buy toys will drive fans to arguing and insulting each other over it. Feels like some pretty devious shit but I guess that’s how it goes for now.

It’s awesome that there are people like @Capirus who are actively working on solutions that bring us together to help each other solve the issues we face. Big shout out to everyone here who has reached out to help someone else get something they were having a hard time finding themselves.

I’m just thinking about how we’re all going to get at least three Trouble Bubbles each and what are we going to do with all the extra naked bald guys?

I had an interesting day today in that I found these.

I have no idea what year these are from, or how much they are worth. But if anyone REALLY needs them, I can swing back tomorrow.

I also saw these for the first time, and carried Cobra Commander around with me for a while.... but I didn’t get any. They had a full case of the wave 1 repaints, Zartan, Lady Jaye, Flint, Gung Ho, Red Ninja, and even a PDD. I thought about getting them all... but I’m still not too sold on this line.

My Zero Edition Snake Eyes and Amazon Storm Shadow are amazing.... but IDK. If I commit, I want to be in for the long haul. As it is now, barely anything is coming out and what is cannot be found.

They had a 25th anniversary figure there for $8 MISB. Looking just like Beachhead but had a different name. I think I might go back and get him. Even though the 3/4 line is dead, it appeals to me in that there were so many figures and so many different versions of character.

Collected my 6 outta 10 (stock cuts) Cobra Infantry today at my import shop:

Almost went into a fanboy’s rage until my kid told me that I should be thankful that I can still “collect” in these difficult times...sigh...first world problems.

If US fans have difficulty looking for these...what chance has an international fan like me got? LOL!

Forgot where i read it or watched in suspected leak video review...but i remember them saying:
    Gung ho
Cobra officer (which i guess could been trooper mistaken identity)
    Zartan
Mark 2 vamp with clutch (could mistook for the rc reveal)

Edit: seemed legit because it seemed they were releasing the same as they did in the 2007 5 packs for the solo figures. Theyve used different versions but those first 5 packs were: duke, scarlet, roadblock, snake eyes, gung ho. And cobra was cc, destro, baroness, ss, and cobra the enemy figure. Then zartan is always a popular figure.

Wow, out of the mouths of babes...
Kudos to your kid (and likely their upbringing) for that wisdom and perspective, and kudos to you for the humility to let the comment sink in.

Now you're reminded, and being reminded is half the battle. ;)
...and speaking of different interpretations of the original, I'm still waiting for more 3P companies to get active in pumping out 6" variations.... valaverse seems to keep getting delayed.

Yeah, had to do some self-reflection...for me collecting has been tough this past year - probably due to the Covid situation.

What frustrated me was that the shop that I ordered from received their stock “late” (almost a month), and to hunt down the remaining numbers of Cobra infantry is going to take time and money...due to price increases with re-sellers etc.

Still no excuses for feeling cheesed off...felt bad as the owner had apologised.

He'll look great with both and that's why I'm buying two sets (but also for the extra guns)

Did some painting on my Bludd rockets. The red I had is a bit bright but it's explosive ordnance and should be marked as such anyways!

The nostalgia from a few pages back was great. I think my best was Christmas 1987. I got the mobile command center with steam roller. Also all the movie guys. Falcon, Cobra la team, law and order, tunnel rat etc. those were the days!
