PREorder. They give you plenty of time to get your orders in between Pulse, Amazon, and many online stores. If you wait until they’re out, you risk not getting them or paying a premium. I passed on ER Barricade because I already have PCP... Now that I look at him more, I want him. Sorry, sold out. So now I either pay the late tax or just go without. So far I’ve gone without.

Shelfwarmers brought me a lot of grief when I was a kid. So many times I dreamed of getting characters from the show (Beast Wars) I liked, like Cheetor, but on the odd occasion my parents would allow me a toy, there was nothing to buy besides Retrax or some other garbage figure. Them being all the store had left me a little bitter, more often than not.

Ha. I mean, if we’re gonna share “forced into loving it because that’s all there was” stories, I was also gifted as a kid one of the most memorable, noteworthy, iconic and just plain awesomest shelf warmers of all time. And that was G1 Blot. Yeah, I was being sarcastic.

That’s my “special” TF— G1 Blot. The purple guy who sorta looks like evil robot from the first Robocop. The guy who was the least interesting member of one of the coolest combiner teams. The most boring purple Decepticon. G1 Blot, he’s my guy.

No bot gets left behind! Not even Blot! Count me in his double digit fan club.

Literally me with T30 Rattrap (not the fastest seller back then), I was 14 when my uncle got him for me, not exactly a little kid but still pretty young I would say. Then I checked out the "old" Beast Wars show and freaking loved it.
I'm a diehard Beast Wars fan now and my collection focus is completely on BW. This is why Kingdom is so exciting for me, I wonder how many kids or teenagers will grow up with these and mantain the BW fandom alive for years to come.

I've been lucky finding most of the basic figures in store, except Kingdom Wave 2. I had to order the wave 2 deluxes online because nothing in store but Arcee by herself. I'm giving Wave 3 a chance at the store, If rolling the dice on that doesn't work, I may just preorder everything after that, but it takes the fun out of buying them with my kid, who likes grabbing them off the shelf and carrying them around the store, and holding it until he gets home.

I personally don't like the fossilizer figures, but my kid loves them so I get those for him too. It's cute watching him freak out when he sees a new fossilizer he doesn't have yet.

I support ur frustration. Im very sorry u have gotten so many awful replies.

Distribution problems r a real thing. Hasbro specifically includes the legal wording on packages, that explain in plain English how u will not find every figure they make. I find the defeatist text very disappointing when u factor how much better logistics tech is today. Can Hasbro do better? Yes. Will they do better? No. Its easier to jack prices than get the correct figures to u. :/

Are we paying more for this new box? Its the same fig, but I think it will cost more. Woo, price hikes.

Every year I print a book. Each book is roughly the same shape and page count as the year before, but materials and labor and overseas shipping costs AND TARIFFS and COVID STUFFS fluctuate, so I actually get a different quote from my printer every year!

    It trends UP!

Pretty sure that any such language about "Subject to Availability" has been present on packaging for decades and is there to prevent some smart ass from finding a toy at a comic shop years later and attempting some kind of false advertisement lawsuit because a cross sale item pictured on the box is no longer available at stores.

Also, this perception that "new waves" literally mean "nothing but new toys, no repeats ever" is based on one thing only: Combiner Wars. That's the first time Hasbro almost did it, if you ignore the repeat of Legends Blackjack, Voyager Motormaster and some others in later waves. But for the Deluxes, sure, Combiner Wars never had any repeats.

But the wave system that's still in use today was pioneered in 1995, the final year of Generation 2, and codified with Beast Wars. Guess what Beast Wars had? Lots of repeats. Guess what Beast Machines had? Lots of repeats. Guess what Robots in Disguise had? Lots of repeats. Guess what Armada had? Lots of repeats. And so on. But then Combiner Wars comes along and does things slightly differently one single time, and suddenly people assume that it's the the way it was always meant to be. Spoiler alert: NOPE.

Also, could we please stop using the term "repacks"? People keep using it for three different things ("re-release of the same unchanged toy in different packaging", "unchanged toy in unchanged packaging shipping in multiple waves of the same line", and "people buying a new toy, opening it, putting some old crap into the packaging and then returning it to the store and claiming their money back"), which irritates me.

Plain English not being what "ur" using, amirite?

Studio has been a pretty steady stream of new figures as well. Not sure if that's because repacks are just the previous wave so it all bleeds together or what.

Like, I'm genuinely shocked at some of the guys who never got repacked. Stuff like Scrapmetal.

I've not seen hide nor hair of wave 2 either here in Mississippi, except for Arcee. The Target near my house has steadily been restocking Primal and Cyclonus though, and of course, at all stores, Blackarachnia and Rattrap are keeping the shelves nice and warm.

Cute anecdote about your kid. I still do that when I find something I like in store. Sure hope waves 2 + 3 show up soon.
