That surprisingly might have answered my question. There's a Metalions toy in the banner, so that's probably it! There's not a lot I need from that line but I'd like to grab a few.
Sargeant Justice and Silver Hawke are now en route. I've fallen so far down the rabbit hole with Tobots, but I love iiiiit
Yo both of those are really fun! Out of all of them their Tokeys actually stand on their own as little animals. Honestly at this point there’s few releases I won’t pick up, and thanks to amazon it’s easy to go into the backlog of toys too. I’ve been having a surprising amount of fun with Athalon
I’m really hoping they restock. I’d love to grab some of the S1 or Athlon combiners. They just look like fun. But honestly I just hope this bodes well for other Korean companies providing their items globally.
I've been meaning to check out some if the older toys. I used to drive a Kia car too so I already have a bias for some of those vehicle modes I've also just noticed listings for the season 3 trio and all three of them look amazing. And the tokey storage on them looks to integrate into storage to where they look like accents to their decos. I don't think I've seen a design in this line that i've outright disliked. They all have their distinct charm
yeah I really like the crew Silver Hawke is part of. Their keys integrate really well and they all have a ton of personality. I kinda like their designs more than the most recent ones but I get the change of pace they went for.
Young Toys is going all on on the US market. Unless there are supply chain issues, everything sold out or unavailable should be available at some point this year. If we're really lucky, it will do well enough to push Sonokong to follow them over here. The market for solid built transforming robot toys for little kids is wide open.
I'm hoping an Amazon seller offers Prime shipping on Jack and Kaiser soon. The season 2 cast is by far my favorite
Cyberverse isn't exactly a match in terms of quality build material or design aesthetic. Hasbro gas had no competition for children's vrobot toys for so long, they phone in most of their toys at that demo. Cyberverse Scouts and One steps vs a Tobot Mini is no competition in quality
Absolutely. Id go so far as to say america is lacking in good hard toys for children right now. While I love my wfc toys, it doesn't feel the same as having toys from overseas. I'm using sentai as a benchmark, and they usually feel better than wfc transformers
Yeah Tobot minis feel built for a domestic market. I’m sure they weren’t, but they fit in nicely. And despite being the “minis” they’re really quality toys! But it’s a cool thing to watch where global accessibility to content is allowing for a bit of unexpected diversity on the market.
It’s that durability factor. Cyberverse toys I’m sure are held to similar testing standards, but they don’t feel like they’re meant to last forever. I’m looking forward to when my sister adopts and I can bring over a bunch of chonky toys I know can survive a four year old. That’s what we’ve been missing.
Oh, your sisters adopting? Congrats! And yeah, I agree. I had my toys over to my younger sister since she was 2, and now she loves playing with my stuff. Same applies to this baby I used to visit. Never felt bad when he tossed my stuff against the wall. Its weird how there is such a huge quality jump when comparing the likes of sentai, tobots, dinocore and more to power rangers, transformers, and other stuff we have here
From my still honestly limited scope of the industry, I think it’s just the perspective of toys between countries. If you browse around Mandarake, most everything is well taken care of and even has original box and instructions despite likely having been owned by a kid. People want to pay less here, because they don’t see their toys as an investment. And it’s probably a few years off but yeah my sister and her fiancé are very interested in adopting. I just get excited about being the cool toy designer uncle.
I agree, culture certainly builds into it. Like, as I understand it, model kit building at a young age seems to be a thing in japan, with so many gundams aimed at kids, with entry grade and all, and super robots just seem like a massive influence in their culture. The same could be said of China, considering both have giant gundam statues. And godzilla statues.. I dont see any transformer statues standing around in New york(sadly) and their arcades and stores, are also heavily teeming with more anime stuff then our arcades Yeah, its fun imaging being the fun toy uncle. I daresay its also one of the most fun parts about collecting toys
Ah in good Tobotian fashion we don’t get any warnings, don’t get any listings, just randomly there’s a review of a new one. I LOVE this guy. He looks like he’s going to rival Wild Chief for articulation. I wonder if they’re trying to chase their audience as they age up.
Amazon finally had a Leo Kaiser with Prime shipping! Can't wait for this one. Easily my favorite car mode of the line
