They didn't. They did repaint the cockpit with numbering on the front that is something seen on CH-53s, but no remolding to that area.
Man I really hate light piped eyes and battle damage/weathering on figures. I have no idea if this guys eyes are light piped or not but that weathering is a dealbreaker for me. I was considering getting him because I never bought Blackout and the new hands are much better. But as soon as I saw that rusty deco I changed my mind. In my opinion Hasbro has a huge problem with whoever is doing the decos. Good moulds these days but the colour and paint choices are not up to par. No consistency either (Kingdom Galvatron not matching Rodimus as an example). The paint budget is being wasted on dirt and rust weathering instead of highlighting details on the bots. This figure would have been a lot better if they would have ditched the weathering and painted a few more details that are supposed to be there. My opinion of course. If you like it that’s great! Now where is the MPM Blackout already??
I have to give the designers credit. While they weren’t able to remold the figure so it could transform into a CH-53, at least they added markings that are seen on the CH-53. Also, someone pointed out on Twitter that it’s a missed opportunity that they didn’t at least put some battle damage paint apps on the head, especially since they reference his death in his bio. Even a head splitting gimmick a la HFTD the Fallen would’ve been rad.
I\'m almost, ALMOST in on this even though I have ss blackout because those hands are actually really nice. If you don\'t have Blackout, pick this up. That figure is still the best SS leader the line ever put out.
I love this and I want it so badly. Blackout has been my second favorite live action SS Leader and I love the hand change. Also lets be honest the bio is fackin dope
Do you mean the copter's refueling boom? Because I was wondering about that as well. If they made it collapsible, it would be an instant buy.
Eh, I'm still in, I like Blackout too much, and I like a realistic deco; this may be my only SS this year anyway.

So.... anybody want to sell me their tiny Ravage? (Or better yet, the HFTD legends one) Was hoping for at least a new colorscheme (black would have looked cool) not "battle damage Blackout".
To be fair, the rust deco is movie accurate. It likely could’ve been executed better, but it is present in the movie.
I could honestly give up my Blackout and be ok with this. Better paint and hands. Almost the same character. Could care less about Skorponok.
100% getting this. I’ll probably get two, one to customize and one to keep. When the original Blackout is getting scalped to the heavens (like this: https://merc.li/h84aVhrzb), I’m glad Hasbro is giving fans another opportunity to own one of their best molds ever.
