Isn't Grindor in this weird spot where the helicopter is a Super Stallion, but the CG model is unchanged from Blackout and thus still represents the Pave Low? Either way, I don't really blame them for not remolding, but I still think it was neat to rework the hands! I don't think this Ravage replaces my HFTD Legends one, but it's still nice to get one officially in Studio Series.
For anyone wondering, here's what's different from Blackout (so far as we can tell): - Retooled hands with wrist swivel and maybe thumb articulation - Lighter gray base coat - Rust weathering - Added "MARINES" text to back - Reworked paint up front with numbering typically found on CH-53s and yellow around the windows - Black rotors instead of gray - Ravage instead of Scorponok
RRRGGGHHH, I'm jonesing so hard to see Jolt leaks. (Normally I wouldn't be so itching for leaks, but the radio silence is maddening.) HMMMM INTENSIFIES.
They couldnt have used base colors that are further away from blackouts? Would still like side by sides
Well I like the new paint changes in the hands but I'm not that excited tbh. They should've changed the alt mode and I still can't understand why Ravage would be put with this guy.
Yes, Grindor's 3d model is the exactly same as Blackout's, with no modifications on his geometry made to make him look more like his new helicopter mode. It's an odd situaton.
Add some dirt and new hands: it's Grindor! Not sure why this Ravage didn't come with satellite Soundwave.
It's hard to find pictures of his alt mode since it appears so little in ROTF. But it looks like him being a Sea Stallion might be a thing from the ROTF game. It looks like from what I could find that Grindor just straight up reuses the CGI of Blackout but redone to be a USMC helo.
I'll be honest, I really like this! It's very similar to Blackout, while having some changes. As the guy who considered buying two sets of Constructicons for movie accuracy, this is totally my jam. Plus, I just noticed that they added yellow around the windows to homage the original toy! That figure is super nostalgic for me, so I really appreciate the nod
I'm still shocked they bothered to retool the hands. Can't wait to pick this guy up EDIT: Also, I just noticed, did they retool the gun on the front/chest?
