Darn, you! I'm betting that BBTS and likely TFSource will be big enough that they can absorb the price increase and honor those original prices. Not sure if I've seen either of those two cancel pre-orders and relist them higher. We know TFSource will "find" more units and mark them up $20 and $40 as pre-orders sell out, but I've not seen them not honor a completed transaction. Anyone hear different when XTB "nearly" released their Springer earlier this year and raised the price $60?
Sometimes it does pay to go with the 200-lb gorillas of domestic sales.

All I ask of tcp is to hold my reservation, not the price.

No retailer is going to just eat a massive price increase. They'll give people the option to pay the difference but there's absolutely no way that they'll just "absorb the cost". That's the road to no longer being in business which is the opposite of what they want to do which is stay in business.

Didn't FansToys tell retailers last year to cancel pre-orders for FT-21 and FT-25 cos their prices were revised up due to redesign?

Yes, but many seemed to ignore that and left their POs up.

You could be right. I see shops like ShowZ eating $5 and maybe $10 price increase on people that have pre-orders. I know they offered existing pre-orders a lower price when XTB raised the cost on their Springer. Didn't they even take an even bigger hit on the Studio Cell/Zeta Unicron when they opted to honor pre-orders? Some of that is from the Chinese International shops sourcing additional units from the Chinese open market rather than direct from the "factory" and needing to raise their prices after the initial PO.
For bigger players like BBTS and TFsource I see them honor POs, but then list any remaining stock at $30 or $40 more. A lot of that could just be the "late tax" they decide to charge beyond the old MSRP, but I got to imagine that they figure what profit margin they made on the pre-orders as one component of figuring how far above MSRP to go.
Has anyone here ever actually gotten a notice from BBTS or TFSource to pay an additional amount or lose their PO? I don't hear about it, but maybe they have in the past. Or have they ever flat out canceled everyone's' PO and listed it again at a higher price?

Tfsource Po is $215, got a better chance of them honoring that. When those prototypes if Blitzwing/Trailbreaker revisions got released they changed their prices.

I've had my $145 PO for a long time. I am fully expecting this to be $275. I have Ditka and if I wasn't a Decepticon/Blitzwing junkie I would pass but yeah I'm addicted so sue me. I know we have Rig and Chomp coming late in the year in already finished figures but I still think if we are getting Berserk in August that either Acoustic Wave or Tesla 2.0 are coming or both somewhere in between here. I believe that Acoustic Wave was even farther along than Berserk at one point. I think FT may hold off on the tapes this year but you still have to wander about Outrider out there. I am not in on that one but it also out there in the same area. My guess is that FT is working on the design of other combiners and stuck with Menasor and Superion but wanted to push out figures they could get done first to not keep building up a backlog. I am pretty sure early next year we get Jazz and Mirage and then finally the combiners take center stage.

The page was taken down. I still have mine on my preorder page but if I click on it I get an error page.

Umm I can't remember which 2 it was. It was about a year ago, I wanna say it was iceman and sheridan or magnum maybe?

I had them PO'd at TFsource and BBTS and neither of them went up on price.

I can't tell you what they were increased to (I wanna say it was $20-30), but I can tell you what I paid.

    FT-30B Iceman - $119.99
    FT-41 Sheridan - $89.99
    FT-31B Magnum - $104.99

I see. But they are not any of the "fully redesigned" ones such as BW and Trailbreaker. I'd be very surprised if BBTS charges the original MSRP.

Are the tank treads functional on this version? It appears they might.
