The ‘86 versions will be worth the wait.

Don’t buy this version if you want the individual Dinobots. Only buy it if you really like combined mode.

 

I've been going back and forth on if I want this since it was announced (to the point of pre-ordering and cancelling multiple times) and now seeing it in stock I bit the bullet and bought it. It was seeing that BBTS still has the upgrade kit available for Pre-order that pushed me over the edge. I really dig how this looks with that kit so this seems like it does fill a small hole I wanted filled in my collection.

 

Or get it if you like both the individual bots and the combined mode and the Dino mode

Custom birb/drone mode for all the accessories except for the two clear swords. Just in case you don't like the idea of overstocking the single robots.

 

Mine came in the mail today, packaging was a bit wack with the box it came in being twice as big as the gen selects box inside so I wasn't completely sure it was it when it first arrived. Individual dinobots are fun to mess with, admittedly a bit small with Grimlock being a sliver smaller than ER Optimus but they're still a decent size with the rest of my chug Autobots so it's fine in my book. Combined mode is also nice, looks great though could definitely use some other piece as heels for more stability, especially with the big ass fuck off swords, which were far bigger than I was expecting. Like, god damn, I could actually stab someone with these if they weren't plastic.
Unfortunately thumbs on the combined hands are loose, and start to fall towards the other side with the swords inserted, so until I tighten them if possible sword poses are limited.
Still though, fun set so far, not disappointed with getting it, might one day get the ss86 leader dinobots if they do toy versions of those molds, but happy with this set and glad to have it in the collection either way

 

Do what I did and buy a pack of right angle adapters from Nonnef.
Those will hold the thumb in place while the swords are held.

Guys, just a tip... Be careful if you use slag as a leg in gestalt mode. His peg hole is definitely too thin. Mine cracked when i was posing him. Not too bad, a drop of super glue and some paper fixed the crack, yet...

 

Inspired by your idea, I’ve come up with the idea to make a jet suit to power up my Grimlock.
Now, my Swoosh has got a new toy to master his martial arts.

PSA: Grimlock’s guns/Volcanicus chest fillers are misassembled. The black gun parts are swapped. I highly recommend everyone pop the guns off of the gold pieces and swap them, it makes them fit way better in all configs. Here are some pics of them assembled correctly. The stock pics for the set also show the correct assembly.

I've been resisting this set. It's tempting but I already have the normal POTP set and selects swoop. Also I am into the SS86 Dinobots, but the colors on this set make me want it and then sell the POTP set. Which would probably not sell. lol

I can only imagine how beautiful this guy could become with GS red swoop instead of the standard blue one... I know the GS swoop isn't painted like this one, but it should be easy to swap arms, legs and head and fix it. I should start search for it, is there anyone who could help?

 

You could try to call your local comics stores. GS Swoop was not very popular at all, so he's been shelfwarming in the locally owned stores here (both of them do mail order as well). That figure also has more severe floppy issues.
