This is the rare TF that I am actually purchasing for the sole purpose of displaying in alt mode. I don't care about the robot mode at all, I just want that horking huge ship sitting on my shelf! The extras like Mainframe, the discs, Sky Eye, etc, are delightful. Can't wait.

 

I too only really want mainframe. I guess I’ll just wait for something like a 25% off sale or I might not crack at all.

 

Really liking the Ark! Although the hands are a bit odd to me, the rest of the figure looks great. I am hoping for a Selects release of Mainframe in accurate Action Master colors though..

 

I am on for Mainframe. But the Ark bot mode is absolutely horrible.

In term of scale, is it me or does Mainframe seem to be a voyager? At least, he seems to be a tall deluxe, which is not a problem for me because a teletraan-1 needs to be a big computer for interaction.

I know a lot of people complained about those big gaps on the sides of the ship mode, but I only have two tiny complaints.
1. The hands look kinda stiff. Those straight thumbs are sorta weird.
2. The weathering. I don\'t mind weathering, but I don\'t like how it\'s only on the top of the ship and not the bottom too. Really breaks the look.
I think I can overlook these little things. Maybe strip the weathering or just ignore it, and maybe there will be a 3p hand upgrade. Other than that, my wallet is screaming as I type.

 

I love his face, but it definitely gives me an Animated vibe.

 

Man, I think he looks great. I love that he’s just a big field of G1-background-orange. Love the Last Autobot face, and the blue flame in his leg thrusters.

Tempted to get two, to have one in Ark mode as well.

 

Can’t speak to your first point, I totally agree, but for your second: Isn’t it not so much ‘weathering’, but damage to the ship from being face first in a volcano for four million years?

 

Come on...you know what you want to do Hasbro. Retool this bastard into Animated Omega and give us back Animated already!

 

Do you really feel that way, or is Playskool the word you chose to say “it looks cheap”? Because most of the time when someone says it looks like PlaySkool, it doesn’t really look like something from Playskool.

It looks really... toyetic. Not gonna lie, I feel like Hasbro kinda dropped the ball on this one.

for bonus points they should reissue his old action master partner with him

 

The giant gap in the side of the vehicle mode is disappointing for such an expensive figure

I never had any intention of getting this from the moment we heard rumors about it but reading your post, I'm starting to consider getting it and just using it as a cool backdrop for a display. It doesn't matter that it wouldn't "scale" to regular sized figures but it would still look cool regardless (IMO).

I'm still on the fence but the needle has moved a little in the "buy" direction

 

Man, I REALLY want to like it more than I do. I just wish there was more colors to break it up better. There was a digibash with the Animated Ark / Omega Supreme colors and it looked soooooo much better (and would lend itself to Mainframe being closer to his classic AM colors.) As it is I'm just not a good enough painter to make a $160 jump and hope I get the colors the way I want them...

 

I championed for this thing and was very excited at the thought of a titan ark, but we didn’t need this, we really needed was a ark playset for our core figures. I agree with some of the others folks, it seems like not a lot of thought went into this and what did over engineered the hell out of it for the sole purpose of hitting a price point. Teletraan and the disks is the saving grace.
