If you just need the new Swipe mold for a custom you're going to repaint anyway, you may want to wait for the Walgreens-exclusive Earthmode Red Alert.

 

Hmm, I like this Sideswipe better than the Kingdom Mirage. I might cancel Mirage to help pay for the Sideswipe because it comes with a BW2 figure I don't want that I have to pay for to get Sideswipe. And I will want to get a 3rd party spoiler for Sideswipe as well. And this is not even for me, it is for my son. He seems OK with the Siege Mirage. Chug is mostly for my son, while MP is for me. And I am trying to get my son the best chug Transformers while they are still affordable.

I really hate these recent 2-packs. It is making budgeting harder.

I don't know if it's the pandemic or not, but wow... Some of these responses.

It is OK not to like something. It's also OK to like something as well.

It's OK if you feel a new figure is not represented in the way one would hope for. However, if the reveal of a toy produces some sort of anger or resentment, it would seem as though there may be underlying issues one may want to address. Collecting should not become stressful or anxiety-inducing.

You don't have to buy figures you don't like, or don't want.

 

It\'s kinda funny. I initially passed on Siege Sideswipe and Siege Mirage because I didn\'t like the Cybertronian alt modes. Then I saw what they looked like with Repro Labels and Noneff upgrades and I bought the Siege figures.

And now that I\'ve seen the actual Earth alt mode figures, I prefer my labeled and upgraded Siege figures.

And since I\'m not interested in the Beast Wars repaints, that\'s a win-win.

 

I doubt its that. A spoiler is a factory option on the Countach, not standard issue. Also, a spoiler in general is considered an aftermarket accessory in general. A car company cant trademark the likeness of an aftermarket accessory.

 

I can tell they have changed a few things on SideSwipe and I think it'll match up nicely with SunStreaker more then the Seige toy... but it still kinda looks too similar for me. I think a spoiler would have sealed the deal but as is it's nice but not needed at least for me.

 

Boy oh boy I sure am glad Hasbro is recouping costs with simple retools that are... more expensive than the originals. I guess that checks out in whatever backwards world collecting has become anymore, lol.

Hehe. Tbh... I don't care for the maximal repaints on either set. (I like Beast Wars, but have no attachment to the repaints.) I'd rather hart the four in separate releases, or bots with bots, beasts with beasts. Wager they expected the Beast repaints wouldn't sell as well without a classic bot to go with, however.

 

I know exactly how this is gonna go. The Canadian preorder won't go up for a couple of days, and when it will, it'll be at 3 a.m my time, and they'll all sell out in 5 minutes and I won't get one

Genuine question. Why don't they make the preorders live at the same time around the world?

 

All you have to do is look at them side by side to see that they are not TOO close to see the differences

I don't know which part of Canada you're in, but for me getting it from Amazon US isn't that much more expensive than Amazon.ca. You might as well preorder it on the US site if you can, and then cancel if you're able to get a Amazon.ca preorder. It'll probably be more of a pain in the butt and the wallet if you gotta grab it on the aftermarket.

 

The good news is, I'll buy that Sideswipe off someone who doesn't want him.
