If China's currency rises the same amount the dollar drops then your $100 dollar scenario becomes $50. Because Chomp is made in China their currency plays into the equation. Plus Chomp won't be out until the end of the year, and the dollar might be destined to decline further this year, while the yuan in China rises making this price increase make more sense.

 

With price tag like this, Roadking will be for $380. No thanks.

Please explain how someone is are able to compare the engineering of chomp, which is not released yet, to a figure that has been released?

I might be wrong but isn’t Jiang Xiang a company that knocks off 3rd party designers and is generally cheaper? Perhaps Jiang Xing has inflated their prices. Even if I am wrong you are comparing apples and oranges, and in this case you are making a comparison between the 2 and of which you have neither to make a fair judgement. Both of your arguments are utterly ridiculous and give me the impression you are stating facts for which you have none. Perhaps I have misunderstood and you are just stating your opinion and you very well might be right in your unjustified claims, but I just wish people would make better arguments.

That could be it but I think they just saw the pattern. Why sell 2000X at $150MSRP and 6 months later it goes for $500 on resale when they could sell 1000X at $250MSRP right now and after it releases sell the other 1000 for the same price because everyone still wanted them. They have had so many opportunities now with the restocks that it was clearly a tactic to assess the market. Nothing nefarious about it they are just playing the game and because of the niche market they know they will get away with it. We are too addicted to quit.

I get that a lot of the smaller companies with foreign sounding names can blur together, but the people behind Winged Dragon are only known for that and that figure is 100% not a KO. It’s a massive, highly articulated, super detailed, and masterfully painted figure. It’s one of the most impressive third party items on a LONG time for quality and price. Which a FT headmaster won’t match

You talk about people not having good arguments while not even knowing what YOU are talking about (ie. You arguing - despite not even knowing the company or figure being referenced. You’re like the guy who comments on an article based on the headline alone )

And Chomp is going to be pretty simple, based on the images shown + the transformation/design of the character. I preordered one. I’ll be happy to get it, but Chomp would have to be several times nicer than both Fanstoys Mindwipe and Weirdwolf (which I also have) for it to even be close in quality + price compared to Jiang Xing’s only release. Those two prior headmaster releases are an indication of what we can expect, even if Chomp has improved upon their flaws. Winged dragon has the articulation, paint, size, and materials (die cast and plastic) over the FT headmasters. In no world should they, or Chomp, be the same price.

When the FT headmasters were 150, this all made more sense. For Chomp to be the same amount as Winged Dragon, it feels like we’re being cheated

 

Idk if this has been said yet in between all the bickering about price and availability etc? But im happy ft is back and producing new figures.

Here's what ShowZ said to me about this.

So I imagine if you fully paid off your old PO you'll get a new invoice to cover most of the price of the increase and you'll get a tiny bit of a break on the increased final cost. It's what they did with Virtus too after XTB increased it's price so much.
