Well there's about as much of G1 left uncovered as there is of the entire UT and triple of Prime.
You underestimate how insignificant Prime especially was compared to G1.
Add to that, why would we need a bunch of boring novel designs of early G1 guys (which is all that Prime ever was) who already got perfectly fine toys when we could have toys of all those much cooler character designs that still don't have faithful toys with modern articulation?

How would you update the Pretenders ? Their concept is a weird one to work around
That'll probably stuff exclusive to Takara, like Legends Dai Atlas

Not necessarily. They have American versions - Nightbeat, Hosehead and Siren. Like PMOP/Ginrai, Takara went in a different direction with these molds and actually gave them different color schemes to go with the different characters. Heck probably a good 90% of Masterforce is just redecos of stuff we got. It wasn't until Victory that things really diverged between Hasbro and Takara.

I assembled a decent Nightbeat from the Bumblebee repaint, the Titan Master and an adapter, and I started to cobble together a Siren. I wouldn't mind these guys getting some love, but honestly, I'd rather see UT, RiD or more Beast Wars. My spring of interest in G1 is down to a trickle after 15 years of updates, and needs time to recover.

Meh.. the Pretenders were never a strong line no matter what. The "shells" where bricks and the internal robots were especially some of the TFs we ever got.

The Prime masters were a fairly smart approach for them, probably the best that could be done with the general concept and I'm 100% fine with them. To let the "pretenders" be a gone concept is fine with me, as they weren't really good no matter what.

'86 Movie up until the Action Masters was the golden age of G1. I am bored of Season 1 and 2 stuff because it's been rehashed so much.

Eh, the pretender toys have their fans. I was never a fan either until I read the Marvel G1 comic this year where they’re featured pretty heavily in the 2nd half (same for me with headmasters). I’d just like to see a version of the concept with transforming bots on the inside rather than Titan masters.

Every line will have some fans, that's for sure.

My point is more about the concept was not a simple one to execute well, and the figures were fairly poor at the time. Today, the odds of Hasbro doing anything that would be worthwhile is very (extremely) slim, as with the whole gaps, lack of accessories and such , I can't even imagine them doing a "shell" based figure, as plastic is being regarded as gold it seems. To do such figures justice is something that I can't see done right.

I mean, at this point I would love for them to do something like RotF Bludgeon for the Pretenders. Where you integrate the shell and the inner robot together to make the character.

I’d even be okay with the Micromaster price point. We got two figures there. Just replace one of the figures with an empty shell that the other mini figure could go inside. They’d be slightly bigger than the Potp figures, but the main thing is they would actually have an alt mode.

I love weird gimmicks if they're pulled off well. Titans Masters/Headmasters are some of my favorites with the head becoming a pilot for the vehicle mode. The Energon Powerlinx gimmick might actually be worthwhile now with modern TF engineering. I thought the Powerlinx gimmick was pretty clever at the time.

Gimmicks can be a ton of fun, just as long as they aren't intrusive.

I hate that Hasbro got rid of missiles and light piping. I'd definitely like them back.

Don't quote me on this but I think shooting missiles are gone for legal safety reasons. I personally don't care but I loved that gimmick as a kid.
Light piping being scrapped is a disgrace. When LP is done right it is amazing. It has been done wrong so many times though which is why I understand the hate for it.

Especially when the light piping is done really well.

I... don't like light piping and much prefer painted eyes, at least that's my unpopular toy opinion.

I can agree with that , or at least give us easy head separation to paint the eyes ourselves .
