It's a perpetual work-in-progress. I keep adding and subtracting surface greeblies, and tinkering with the internal lighting scheme...

    perpetual WIP.jpg

I've had to put it aside to concentrate on a commission, however.

Much of the surface detailing is, just like the original pyrotechnic studio model.

You may prefer the view from within... :D

    A girlfriend, obviously.

Had to send this to my Mom. She's a huge Trekky (did I spell that right). She has a bit of a Star Trek toy collection in her office.

Hmmmmm, what sort of commission work?:D

That's just awesome...and definitely the most creative use of leftover sprues I've probably ever seen. Great work, man!

My God. That looks as if it were from QMx or Anvonos. Surely worth what they would've charged too.

Me, I caved and acquired the DeAgostini one exclusively done for the Eaglemoss range in Japan. For the scale, it's the most accurate to BOBW; even putting the main EM range cubes to shame.

Yeah, it's one of the best reproductions available at that size, but it's just too tiny to scale with practically anything. A Borg cube has got to dwarf everything else in your fleet, even the SDF-1.
That's why I knew I'd have to scratchbuild my own, and I'd been stockpiling leftover sprues for over a decade with this project in mind.

Trying to get this thread back on topic? :p

"Why is that robot wearing clothes?"

"Why aren't the other robots wearing clothes?"

"Why is the aesthetic of those robots inconsistent with the animation versions of the toys they are based on?"

I think putting clothes on robots just leads to more difficult questions that need no answers.

I don't know if anyone here knows about the "Because Race Car" thing or where it came from, but I can't think of anything else more well suited than mMacross. So, on that note.

    Because Macross:D

First question answer - Unless your either a TBLeague "Sex Doll', Replicant made by Jared Leto on Blade Runner 2049 straight from the womb, old school Terminator T-800, then you need to cover yourself from indecent exposure right?

Second question answer - Maybe they prefer not having clothes on and they want look different and they're fine with it?

Third question's reply - It's to match with the other characters that are based on the show like Autobot X in the animated Transformers series.

Time to cue up Run DMC and Beastie Boys - "It's Like That" vid. Need more explanations? :p

Yeah, it seems to be a ko of the Yamato that was made for their V2 1/60 Valks.

Heads up to those who were lucky enough to order the VF-1J + Armored Parts bundle from Amazon JP. It seems like international shipping might be available now. I was able to change my shipping address to my main address in Singapore.
