Going to attempt a review, it will be a first for me. Just got him in the mail today from BBTS. Will update here shortly.

So we know a toy deco is coming but is a repaint with a more lavender/bluish color plausible? The grape purple here isn’t my favorite even though it matches the show

“What did he say his name was?”

Seriously though, what are the odds a guy with your username would be the one to review this figure?

Ahhh yes my namesake. You know I got into collecting on a whim with universe Galvatron. This might be where my collection wraps up too. Early impression is he's very solid and proportions look far better in hand. Having a little trouble transforming him getting his head to collapse into his chest. Probably won't get time to fiddle with him till later.

The color doesn't look too bad in hand but I would definitely bite for a marvel style repaint or something with more of a blueish color

Maybe. Maybe not. It looks like BBTS may have gotten a very limited early amount.

I pre-ordered him back in early April the day the pre-order went live. It shipped from Wisconsin to Michigan if that's any indicator.

About the actual figure- how are the tolerances? Other reviews seemed to indicate it's nice and sid, but the leg panels worry me a bit. They seem to detach when the ankle tilt is utilized.

Just got mine and so far so good. Honestly the only challenge is when you're trying to go to cannon mode and need to clip the purple cheat pieces to the cannon chamber.

Mine was Wisconsin to Illinois (Chicago area), fwiw.

I'll say this. Solid figure great in hand. Feels like a leader class if you're anything like me, this figure is my namesake. The Galvatron I've wanted since I was a kid in the 90s. This is it. Build quality, heft, this is a leader class figure. And one I wanted my whole life before it ever existed

    Kneel before your new leader.

It goes without saying, but this is the best Galvatron figure ever. The G1 was always a favorite of mine, but everything since has been a massive disappointment, starting with the craptacular Universe one (seriously, this was horrid...I know it was supposed to have been larger originally, but still) and continuing through the Titans Return iteration (my biggest issue with it being that the gimmick took it from being not bad to not good).

This one is freaking awesome with only a few quibbles. First, the tank treads just stay in the way in robot mode. It's too bad they aren't on a stem with a ball joint on both sides so it can be maneuvered, or, better yet, have another arm swivel just below where it connects. Second, I don't like how the chest/trunnion piece in cannon mode doesn't snap into the shoulder blades beneath to stabilize the entire front piece...maybe it was designed that way to enable it to tilt up, but I'd have preferred it be locked down. Third, the twin guns just plain suck. He doesn't grip them well in the hand, and the pegs are too short to fit well into the arms. The back storage mounts are too short and make it too easy to pop them off, and given how they're in the way of something all the time, it doesn't take much to pop them off. I wish they'd just redone the original black rifle from the original figure.

All in all, though...aside from the lack of a to-and-fro ankle joint (there is some inside articulation, though) and the PITA treads, the robot mode is near-perfect! The only extra thing I'd have liked to see is light-piped eyes as that would have looked sweet. They nailed the face and head sculpt! Size-wise, he's not taller than, say, Cyclonus, but he's far bulkier and looks like a real brute. And the cannon mode...did we ever think they'd come up with a great Galvacannon mode? Well, they did. It's not perfect (hollow in the back, doesn't lock down in the front), but it's probably more so than we'll ever get. And I love that sparkly barrel!

Here's hoping for a Galvatron II repaint: I'm completely and utterly down for it.

Since Galvatron II is effectively Galvatron in toy colors he has been confirmed for Generations Selects via online listings, but hasn’t been officially revealed by Hasbro yet

Spent some more time with him and the kids and I got to play with him too. I'm really a fan. The purple stands out and looks great alongside Cyclonus and Scourge, and the "feel" of the figure is very hefty. As others have said, he's a thicc boy and he feels very "leader" to me because of it.

My joints are all tight, almost too tight. I really had to force open the gun chamber to get the head out, and my 8 year old was completely unable to without help. It's still preferable to the TR one, though, because mine was a floppy mess. I've had more success than others with the ship guns once I figured out how to actually attach them, but I could take it or leave it. The matrix on a chain is an unexpected highlight for me and it looks really cool in both modes. I love the face sculpt, it has a ton of personality.

My 8 year old son already has a million ideas about Galvatron and time travel so he can get all of our guys fighting at once and the 2 year old provided approval by making a big "boom" as soon as he saw the alt mode.

But that lavender blue matches the 1986 movie better. I also prefer that color like you. I bought fans toys FT-16M and new age Darius EX specifically to have that blue.

I'd say this guy and Cyclonus are the stars of kingdom IMO if you aren't into the beast bots. Solid as a rock in both modes. I'd be down for a G1 toy redeco if they decide to do it
