I really liked Energon Optimus\'s design. I would buy this. 

 

Here's hoping they show off other configurations tomorrow. And what the drill opens up for, maybe another super attack mode like NC has?

 

This is great and all but Fanshobby NEVER properly released their Naval Commander and now it\'s sold out on all online retailers except eBay. I hate it when 3rd party companies give a release date and never really follow through on them or a estimate just to postpone then to get it completely sold out , it\'s so annoying

He looks pretty good, but my fave Energon Prime configuration is helicopter and firetruck for the arms, submarine and drill tank for legs, so I'm going to need to see that before 100% decide.

 

They've confirmed you can do that configuration if you want to, and I shall be doing that for mine. Also, that’s probably one of my favourite moments from Armada. It’s just so stupid yet the energy that radiates is unbelievable.

 

That's possible. Fans Hobby said they can all be arms and legs, they just wanted to show one that is traditionally an arm (the copter) and one that's traditionally a leg (dill) as arms to show they can and viscera.

That configuration is probably my favourite, but I also like the opposite configuration when Prime got them back from Omega. I remember being so excited as a kid when they came back only for them to disappear again the next episode and I was like "wait what? Where'd they go?"

 

Between this and their Armada Optimus, Fans Hobby are really stepping up the "Bring Back the Unicron Trilogy" game.

The ball is still on Takara and Hasbro's court, but the score is now 2 to none.

How does the core bot compare to what we saw in the anime? Because even the core bot is looking mightier fine that fatimus prime…

Man, I'm jonesing so hard for new Unicron Trilogy toys! Armada was my first true introduction to Transformers and I wanted to get in on that toyline, but my dad took the suggested age range too seriously and wouldn't let me have any.  

Takara. Hasbro. Guys. I'm ready to sacrifice a fleet of goats just to have that Armada Optimus from 2019. You guys are crushing us so bad with the radio silence. Just put him in Commander class FFS!  

 

The anime shrunken Primes chest when he transformed from truck to bot to avoid the fatimus issue.


And seeing as this can't be done in the real world yet, FH basically just shrunk his chest down for both bot and truck mode to achieve the look, although still adding in the option to slim him down even more then they've already made him.

 

I was looking back over the old Energon Prime and good god, it was even worse than I remembered, after the awesome of R.I.D and Armada Energon was a massive step down, at least for Prime and several others, I recall the Megatron/Galvatron figure was pretty cool at the time for being a solid rendition as movie Galvatron in robot mode.

While Fanshobby core Prime is looking a billion times better than Fatimus I just wish they put the knee pads on a slider which would move them down to aid proportions but hey, its easy to play armchair designer and adhering more to the original could have been a design choice ora cost consideration.

The way the chest window flaps just hang there on the sides for super mode always bugged me.

 

Well, it's a work-in-progress, so they might end up doing just that anyway.

No offense, but Galaxy Upgrade Optimus is more of a Unicron Trilogy homage rather than a true take of Unicron Trilogy Optimus. The greyscale prototype, on the other hand, is Armada Optimus through and through.

 

Well it's accurate, so that's why their going for.


You could also just keep them closed if you want really.
