Sorry to hear this happened. From my perspective, you have a few options.

    1) You can communicate with the seller and ask for a refund. This isn’t an easy route to take, as the seller may feel that he or she has done his or her part, so to speak. The items, as you say were wrapped in bubble wrap and there was also extra cushioning in the box.

If you go this route, you will need to return the item. The seller may ask you to pay for postage. That is not an unreasonable request, as the seller could be just another collector like yourself. If you ask them to pay for postage, that is a loss of money on their end.

    2) You can glue it. Not the most fun of tasks, but it does fix the broken part.

    3) If you don’t care about the figure, you can file an insurance claim with the shipping entity. In the case of USPS, they will actually take your item away when you file a claim in order to get paid. This would include ALL of the figures in the box.

It’s ultimately up to you to decide what you want to do. If it were me, I would just glue it, as the break appears to be repairable.

While I had them out I thought I’d take a group photo and share the primes currently in my collection. Most are unused or sealed

One card to rule them all. They did the same thing with the Rescue Force. How cheap can Hasbro Europe get?

Thanks! Yeah, we are semi regulars at this Flea Market, and of course, I’m on the look out for G1 Transformers every time we go, but I rarely find any. And I’ve never found that many at once!

I feel like I did pretty well. The guy selling them knew what he had, so I didn’t get them for a steal or anything, but I think I got them for a good price. Definitely much less than eBay!

Man, that packaging sure does bring back memories. I had the Scrapper and Scavenger from that set as a kid.
So random that they made them non-combinable. What gives, Hasbro?! :p

My Soundwave's joints and button have locked up, and I don't want to risk breaking him. Should I just leave him be? Or is there something I can do? :(

Yeah, it’s kind of strange because Hasbro did the same thing with Rescue Force and the Motorvators, for the European market.

I guess you could make the argument that it might have been done as a cost saving measure, but with the Constructicons, I know at least a few of the figures were actually retooled to take away the combiner element, which seems like more than just a cosmetic change.

If they had just not included the extra Devastator parts, I’d definitely think cost saving measure, but retooling the figures themselves so that they wouldn’t connect together seems like it would add expense. Very strange.
