Heh, I had two videos on the go and I still couldn't figure that damn thing out. To be fair though, I had let the days frustrations get the better of me. Never open a new figure after a difficult morning and a string of infuriating phone calls. Light some incense, put on some mellow music, possibly have a relaxing bath, and center yourself before engaging a tricky figure. Especially if it's from XTB...

I’ll agree with everyone that the shoulders seem a bit dicey but hopefully they’ll prove strong enough. Also don’t like the wrist connection as it comes disconnected at the drop of a hat. Regardless he’s quite good looking! The colour is more spot-on IRL than it seems to be in pics. Haven’t tried to transform it yet thoughts and prayers  

 

Mines arrived from show.z, transformed him today...wooosh what a PITA...not sure about those shoulders, I was having Kup nightmares again. Followed a few vids, but it was the Paik4Life vid that sorted it for me, the bit where the faux windshield splits in three and the two side parts and they then tab into the underside of the central part - once this was sorted the rest just dropped into place, also remembering to pull both the steering wheel and the thing on the other side (part of dashboard?) through into the cabin. Once that was sorted everything else was fairly straightforward, don't think I've got it 100% but it's good enough.

 

Sorry, but does anyone know how long it takes ShowZ support to get back to you? Chronic worrier here.

 

a bit later than a lot of guys her but hope you guys still interested in first impressions.

got this guy in and had about 10-15 minutes with him. first impressions (robot mode only)...

1. my copy isn't perfect with paint. there is some scraping of the paint above one of the pins on the lower shin(near where an ankle would be). sketckily enough somebody taped a piece of masking tape over the area that is from far away a decent enough match for the paint. i think a factory worker fucked up inserting that pin and scratched the paint and covered it up. perhaps he didn't want to generate scrapped pieces and be blamed...whatever the case....this is a QC issue out of the box - not something i've had before from XTB (sure sure apollyon's chest warpage...but that was on every piece and along time ago).
2. its heavy and maybe too heavy.
3. some joints are way too tight. thigh swivel and bicep swivel come to mind. still i'd rather they be too tight than too loose. knee joint!?
4. in person he has like shockwave disease... really long forearms and really short bicip/tricep/upper arm area.
5. his backpack doesn't really tab in. theres a tab and a slot but it doesnt' look designed to lock in.
6. the short legs or long torso doesnt' bother me much in person.
7. the shoulder articulation works but i would be careful when using that butterfly.

also , i lost his damn visor on the youthful face already. why is that a separate piece? gah!! had to reinstall the default face. Also, its hard to get this guy into a decent pose and hold it. bicep swivel and thigh swivel are too tight. backpack comes undone. waist hinge/ab crunch is ok but could be tighter. ad in his upper arm being way shorter than the forearm and yeah its just "OK to good" in robot mode so far. i think so far i like every stunticon released better than this guy. it also doesn't help the GT's sarge is the same character but looks way better i guess. wanted to love this...just kinda like it still. the paint scratch soured me from the start though. not sure if tfs express would replace it because its not a huge mark.

Got mine in today from Taobao.
I was fairly apprehensive and that turned into extremely dismayed once I opened him. I had some scuff marks (thankfully they were cleared up with gentle eraser rubs. The big issue with mine is it looks like he was driven in a hailstorm. I've got hood dents.
a little hard to see in pics but here they are. Impossible to miss in hand.  


I still like the figure, I think it presents better in hand
The shoulders are a concern, the gorilla arms aren't the best, I like the color, though find the hip universal bare plastic color to be a little jarring.
transformation is involved, but i kinda like those.

All in all, a mixed bag. I don't think i have the ability to get a replacement hood and fix it. pin punching scares me.

Sad news, but I'm not sure which is stranger: Me trying to think of a famous trio and coming up with Rod Jane and Freddy, or one of them dying shortly after I do. Does this mean I have eldritch death note style powers?

Let's test this... Well blimey, I sure hope Boris Johnson isn't impaled though the head on a shaft of frozen shit!
