The torso block/seat/door arrangement works the same way no matter what mode you have it in.

Does sound like it's got an issue then, mine wasn't working in a similar manner when it arrived from the retailer at launch, they were able to send me a replacement torso block thankfully.

Since it's second hand I guess you can only really try taking it apart very carefully and see if something has come out of alignment in there. :(

I did take my broken one apart at the time, I might still have the pictures on my phone or you can look back in this thread around the time it was released, I probably posted them here.

When you try to open it (as seen in the manual) what happens? Does the chest door open at all? Or is it that the door opens, but the part the suit connects to doesn't slide out?

The chest door opens fine in vehicle mode, and the suit hangar comes out, but once down it's locked in place. There's zero movement or variance, as if it's supposed to be like that, and I can only get it to close back up by raising and lowering the head.

Only had this set open a few minutes, but it's great fun. Think I might have to look at catching up on the Verserisers...

I looked through their stuff but couldn’t see what they were explicitly for. Any chance you could be a pumabro and suggest what I should buy? Full trust!

also this isn’t my pic but I’m excited!!!

I have had a lot of issues with the Powered Suit/Head mechanism on at least one of mine, also. In fact it was so bad that I could not push the suit chamber in with the head down, at all. But mine isn't limited to just one mode...
I think on some of them, the tiny parts just get slightly out of alignment... The closest solution I found when searching online was that to get things to line up inside I had to slightly hyper extend the suit chamber out. I never liked this as it felt like I was about to break it...

Sorry, I missed this one but thank you. I don't think I'm up to taking him apart so unless someone knows of a fix that doesn't involve screwdrivers I think I'll just leave it.

Yeah, the whole thing seems more trouble than it's worth really. And besides I think I prefer Walking Fortress Mode anyway!

With EMS opening back up come June 1st hopefully it's not too long before I can save a bit of money through Mandarake again.

Question for you guys. I am looking for a guide/picture book that has all the old Diaclone transformers in it. Does such a book exist? Bonus if it has microchange stuff as well.

Ah, I was just going to ask about this. I've never ordered from Mandrake before but was going to give it a go earlier this week and it acted as if it couldn't ship outside Japan. Is that because of the EMS issue?

"All"... No. But, Mook's Diaclone World Guide (first volume only) has a lot of it. Be careful not to get Diaclone World Guide Next as it has NO vintage in it. It is out of print and will be tough to find at a reasonable price, especially with dvd included.

There's a separate thread, here for vintage...
    Vintage Diaclone Thread
    It has other good resources.

No Microman is in any of above. I'd recommend looking to a Microman thread for that information.

Most shipping from Japan has been closed down, with the exception of DHL which is rather expensive. EMS is opening back up and should be more affordable.

did you use the global site? Mandrake has 2 versions of their site. Japan and then global. they use DHL which is fast AF for shipping internationally. I ordered from them a month or so back. shouldn't be an issue.

of course. I've only had time to mess with the Waruder stuff. I heading out on holiday tomorrow to hawaii. if i get done packing early, i'll try and go through some of the other base stuff i got. i dug out my H Hangar from my storage locker to use with them sets.

The definitive book that has both vintage Diaclone and Microchange is the Takara SF Land book. But it is long out of print and not easy to find. B8D65C8D-B858-4890-93F5-681DDF228F5A.jpeg

There is also this “follow up” book that covers the lines that were either missed or released after the first book was published (including Gridman) 5049A80E-F855-4108-933E-CBBCEBC25C65.jpeg .

I wasn't aware of this one... Thank you. My book collection keeps growing. Looks to be well over $120, used, on Amazon.co.jp. I think this one may be a wait on one...
