Yeah I know. I do know both marvel and sunbow scorponok very well. Yeah there are in universe options or one of my own.

A failed shockwave experiment where zarak is rebuilt and bonded to a cybertronian body but breaks away from shockwave and forms his own renegade group

 

My backstory for Blackzarak is that Scorponok and Zarak got absolutely desimated by Underbase Starscream, and were just left floating in space dying by the Decepticons.

And so the Quintessons, who really wanted to get their hands on the Fasttrack drones to sell them, rescued Scorponok and Zarak and rebuilt them into Blackzarak. In this process Scorponok and Zarak ended up having their minds fused even more than they already were.

Now Blackzarak serves the Quintessons as a walking factory for their new Guardminder MKII Roritchi type drones, which they sell to other races just like Overcharges.

I had that backstory before this figure was even revealed, so it made me lose my mind when I saw the robot mode for the head had a busted chest and eyepatch.

LOL, too true. Tonton is not gonna get this. He would have gotten the Ark already if he had sources like that.

That's a weird one... Quintessons were never present in the non-future Marvel timeline, and in the Underbase saga Scorponok never actually faced Starscream (he absorbed the Underbase and blew up while Optimus and Scorponok fought).
I always had the idea canonically that Black Zarak is the same Zarak from the Headmasters anime, who just built a new transector for himself, since he sacrificed his Scorponok body at the end of the anime while trying to blow up Earth.
Though, it was never explained in Masterforce who Devil Z was. Maybe he was Zarak, transcended to an energy form?

 

I don't see a reason why the quintessons couldn't exist in any other timeline in some form. We only saw the quints for the first time in the animated movie and then Seasin 3 and marvel UK but as they were the creators of the tfs in sunbow it meant they were akways in the background.

Theres no reason why the quints coukdnt exist in the masterforce universe or other continuity.

 

They do exist in Masterforce considering it's the same continuity as Takara's version of the Sunbow toon

 

We got pics of Unicron in the factory, they were from hasbro themselves. I thought maybe since this is the biggest selects figure so far that they'd show pics of it in production, that's all.

 

We got pics of Unicron in the factory from Hasbro because it was part of a crowd funding campaign. Black Zarak wasn't, it's just a regular release figure. We don't normally get factory photos from Hasbro.

 

A few images had been released but I'd say hasbro figured as it's a redo of scorponok we knew what the score was. Either way. I'm looking forward to it. The actual box itscin is more a square size then the traditional titan rectangular shape.

Not in Europe. I ordered from them here in the U.S. when they had the LC Zeo Megazord for $40 shipped. Didn't realize the fulfillment center was in Great Britain. My LC Zeo Megazord arrived fine but I was somewhat uncertain for awhile as I'd read others had had bad experiences with them.

 

Could be both boxes for super megs and zarak. It's what I found on YouTube

Thinking about dropping my preorder for this guy, too much coming out around that time of year now, especially with the recently revealed collaborative set

 

I hear you but in my experience you do that and then you see it in reviews, try and order it and find it is either sold out or price is increased.

 

Fair, idk, it's a combination of a few things really, one of which being that I'm also running out of room for titans and I've got Scorponok, so as far as characters go I've got him covered, plus I don't have Grand Max, so having Black Zarak would feel unbalanced.

 

I felt the same way, but when I saw the eye patch and chest remolding, I was convinced. Said eff it, and decided BZ was going to be the Ark's nemesis   for the time being.

(A new Fort Max, thus new Grand Max is bound to happen sooner or later)

 

Yeah I get it man. But I'd say we will get grand max eventually too
