My head canon says he defeated Throne of Primes Optimal Optimus for the crown, went insane, and started wearing dinosaur bones. :p

The Sparkless seeker is available on Walmart.com for preorder for 8/2. The Sparkless seeker is the only Netflix series I currently don’t have or have on preordered. I just preordered it.

YES! It took two years, but I finally added Netflix Soundwave to my Transformers collection.

Despite yellowing inside the box, I am thrilled to finally have the "Earthrise" Soundwave figure.

Wondering how a few of the translucent purple Paleotrex would look on Megs instead.

Three copies of Skelevore would look like a sea of purple plastic. Although use Skelevore with caution, due to the purple plastic on that figure being clear purple plastic.

I confess, I paid a scalper $130 for Soundwave, but it was worth every penny considering how rare and hard to find he is.

I was tempted, but I chose Deathsaurus. Im still hoping for SS86 to reissue him; even if the paint job is different

The HasLab figures have been outside of my price range. I'm debating on possibly getting the Masterpiece/3rd Party versions of Star Saber and Victory Leo, since they are starting to go for slight cheaper prices then the HasLab Victory Saber set.

I went through most of my Transformers budget earlier this year collecting Transformers T30 Metroplex, Selects Piranacon, Selects Black Zarak, and the "A Hero is Born" Alpha Trion/Orion Pax 2-pack, not to mention all the Legacy, Velocitron Speedia 500, Shattered Glass, Selects, and Buzzworthy Bumblebee figures. (phew)

Since they read the forums, I hope someone at Hasbro notices this. Who was the asshole (or idiot) that gave Walmart one of the most popular characters of all time?

They JUST got the rights back in time for the SG version.

Apparently they had a deal with Walmart not to use the Soundwave or Bumblebee retools for a certain length of time.

I wouldn't be shocked to see him (or a further retool) again, given that Hasbro is still making compatible cassettes.

If I had to lay odds, I'd bet he shows up in Buzzworthy Bumblebee either as a reissue or as Soundblaster.

Now, what would get me onboard with further uses:

    1. Package in Buzzsaw.

    2. I'd buy a straight Netflix Soundwave reissue with Siege Soundblaster's chest that could hold two cassettes. It makes a certain amount of sense as cartoon Soundwave could hold multiple cassettes. It's the best of all versions IMHO to give him the earthmode, the blue deco, and double cassette storage.

Congrats. It's a very nice figure all the more reason why it's annoying parts are yellowing.

IF they got the rights back.

IF, because Hasbro stated that the deal is for new parts: that 'belongs' in this case to Walmart. But the SG version has a new head so that can count as new moulding thereby circumventing the deal for the Netflix version: because of the new head the SG isn't the exact same mould as the Netflix figure, thus they can release it. (The same thing happened with the Botcon classics seeker sets. Hasbro likewise wasn't allowed to release those as part of the deal, so they created new parts for a regular release.)

Did Hasbro say EXACTLY that, or are you interpreting it a bit creatively? Cuz what I remember them saying is that the unique tooling is instead limited to exclusivity to Walmart for a period of time. That's why they reused both the Walmart Beetle Bee and Earth Soundwave molds about two years after they came out, instead of sooner which they almost certainly would've done if all they'd needed to do to use them again was add a new part.

To me recollection, I'm not interpretating it. They said the unique tooling (i.e new parts) are as you say, exclusive to Walmart and as such they cannot release this figure outside of these stores. But you're right in stating there's a time limit to it. That's why I started with IF they got the rights back.

Because a way to circumvent it is by changing the tooling/parts. And that can simply be a new headsculpt which the SG version has. Something Hasbro has done in the past with previous exclusives.

So it is possible they the deal with Walmart ran it's course and they got the rights back in which case they could re-release the original figure any moment they choose. Or they just circumvented the whole thing by making a new head.

This is why I'm also very curious to see the rumoured re-release of Ramjet and Dirge. If they're exactly the same as the original, then the contract with Amazon expired. If they're slightly changed, then it is indeed possible to circumvent it.

Honestly I think they just don't have mold-exclusivity deals with Amazon, Target, etc. the way they do with Walmart, since there's plenty of examples like the ER Vanbro mold getting reused super quickly for SG Ratchet really soon after being used for the original Amazon-exclusive uses of it. Walmart specifically wants exclusivity for the tooling in a way other stores don't seem to.
