It's easy, I look at the sS86 hot rod figure in my hand, I look at the reference photos. The one with the front chest flipped down to show the matrix, thats a solid static piece. The arms is superficial step for the wheels to sink in abit. Arm remains the same. Legs look the same.

And as someone who owns them both I can tell you with confidence how incorrect you are.

Some people aren’t going to like this. It’s by no means the defining Rodimus. There are plenty of flaws and some won’t be able to see past them. My initial impression of this toy was disappointment. On the surface it’s hard to see where the extra budget went. But there is more complex engineering in the transformation of this than MP-28. And for me the ultimate measure of a toy’s worth is the enjoyment my kid gets out of it. And so far this figure is well worth it.

PotP was indeed accurate to the source material.

So for those frontpagers who were railing against MP-51 Arcee not being "screen accurate", well, we got PotP Rodimus being accurate to the source material itself. Even the original source material of Arcee was a bit barfable until Takara/Toei refined her even further.

In Rodimus' case, we ought to count our blessings he was even produced again with refinements after like 2 years (?). Iirc, Hotrodimus/Rodimus Convoy is popular in the Land of the Rising Sun.
