I think of it as Bumblebee movie with a bit of G1 (heavy tech detail + the slightly "plainer", but more immediately recognizable faces)

They are still very G1 inspired due to their humanoid / "super robot" appearance.

I can't tell who is who just by the faces, maybe only Silverbolt. But I don't care about how the head / face looks like tbh.

This one has been on my mind for quite a while. For me, It\'s either this or Zeta\'s.

    Thoughts?

For me, Zeta's Superion looks great, but am not keen on Silverbolt being pretty much being a backpack in the combined form.

I'm hoping Dream Star can pull out the quality they are promising

Zeta is a known quantity, one of the best combiner around, and affordable. Individual bots are the weakest point, though I think they are fine.
This one seem to have a more advanced engineering for the individual bots, with a more intricate transformation and better articulations, of course with an higher price tag. The combined mode seems to make use of less partsforming if that's something that matters to you, but we don't know if it will be as stable and posable as Zeta's.
Then there is the matter of if you want G1 Superion or are fine with an heavy reinterpretation.
Personally I'd say if you give priority to the individual bots his set might be the better choice. If you are like me and have them combined for 90% of time grabbing the Zeta set while it's still available might be a wise move.

Is there a timeline on the release of these?

I'm more and more tempted every time I see pics. I'm much more happy to lend my dollar to something that isn't just G1 toon accuracy driven.

If you want something fresh and experience some cool engineering get this one, if you want a giant action master get Zeta's.

According to DST Facebook page, first robot estimated release is "around second quarter 2021". Also pre-order is 139.99 in case you were not aware.

Legs a little kibble-y but still looks good.

Can't tell from the dark background, does he have articulated fingers?

They didnt mention an alternate head so i'm assuming they changed it from the past proto. The new headsculpt looks great to me but it makes him look like a Decepticon imo.

This looks great. I have them all on pre order at show z, but I’m trying to not like them so I can cancel my pre orders and spend the money on something else. But wow, they look good.
