oh yeah I’ve been a member since 2006. I don’t often post, but I’ve been more and more active. Always enjoyed reading the threads in this forum... especially when it blows up.

 

A bunch of the sketches I did on the run up to the final art.

 

And last little note from me. The tunnel from the opening of the Pulse steam was made and animated by me. Amazed they used it!

 

I think I prefer the art on the standard edition, it has a Star Wars vibe that feels really fitting for this movie.

 

That was the brief. Do something refined and minimalistic for the steel to contrast the EVERYTHING of the standard.

 

This isn’t exactly the case. The quality of the film is separate from the size/type. And then it also depends on who is processing the film as well. While much of the film used for movies holds up in 4K, much of the film used for projects with lower budgets looks quite bad.

 

Both approaches have their appeal.

 

Yeah....I'm gonna need to make an acoustic panel out of that for my home theatre. That is epic.

This 4K release news was the most exciting thing for me from the Fan First panel this past Friday. Completely surprised me as physical media have been on a downward spiral for the past several years. I thought that the 30th Anniversary release would be the final release of the movie. The 4K UHD release is a welcome surprise.

 

I keep checking on the Shout Factory shop for the pre-order to appear, but nothing yet as of a moment ago.

For some reason I was thinking I heard 10am est on the stream, but I watched it again just now, and she just gave the date. Guess I'll be refreshing all day!
