@HolyCulture sold his immediately. So yes regrets have happened for sure. I almost sold mine over the maw colour but overall it's really awesome and I'm glad I have it. But I am still trying to decide on whether or not to fix the maw and how to do it. It will be a pain to fix it.

 

As recommended by others here I transformed him this morning just to make sure there were no issues. The only issue is that I'm out of shape, this guy made me break a sweat

Just to clarify it wasn’t a regret. I luckily have the money to support a company I love. For that reason alone. I was pretty sure I was going to hate this toy with the silver paint and all the greebles, and the massive massive calves. If I HAD TO keep it: fine. Luckily some local dude wanted to pay 3x what I paid without me even listing it. I just posted pics on Twitter and I was contacted out of the blue. Lucky me. Fuck Haslab Unicron  


I’m still happy I participated in the event though.   and I think they did a great job on this toy! Sincerely. But in my personal collection it’s not worth 50 bucks. With just some minor changes I’d pay a grand for an official Toon Unicron of that size. The rings would need to be revamped and the shell of the planet would need to be hidden better. Anyways. Glad the general sentiment is positive is this figure.

I'm happy I have him. No remorse at all. I look at him in passing and I'm still amazed that they did it. The kibble doesn't bother me at all, just adds to his immense-ness.
Thinking of surrounding Unicron with all my different versions of the Armada ones as his minions.

I think there’s some over speculation because a lot of people bought two. I know a few people selling locally but their price is more then my rent.

 

I should have bought two as well but there's no where in my house I could display the planet mode   it would've sat in the box for a rainy day.

This thread is out of control so I'm not going to remember but were you the guy that cut out the ab section? Is your custom ab piece plug and play (you put it on top of the 8 pack)? Great thought on getting a second set and piecing it all together. You dekibbled Unicron looks great. Did you set up the kibble as a planet on it's own with the original rings?

 

Thank you!! Yes, I'm the one that cut out the ab section; unfortunately the ab piece is not plug and play. Collector Crafts can make additional replicas of the ab piece since he still has the mold for it. However to install, it will require you to take a dremel / knife to your Unicron and cut out the abs yourself to swap it.

EDIT: I also worked on the planet mode a bit more, filling in all 12 mandibles of the maw with Apoxie and painting it so they're solid, rather than hollow. (I used Montana Gold / Golden Yellow Spray Paint for the color)

 

Which spray did you use to spray the maw to such good color match?

 

I think they're both great figures but all that extra detail on Haslabs beats cell easily, even with the kibble.

 

I still can't get over how badly Zeta screwed up the face sculpt. Unicron ain't no biker viking.

 

Cool. Thanks for the tip. I was watching YouTube last night and came across this guy for the led eyes. It's a bit more involved but since you obviously don't mind cutting into unicron thought you'd appreciate it.
