Yeah--same as the arms, the parts are just duplicates cast from the same mold. They don't have a "left" and "right." You're good

    Fellow Canadian.
Don't sell it. and don't paint it. Wait for 3rd party, print out trunkkey's 3D maw file, or use vinyl to cover it.

Yeah yeah. Humbling moment. Just got to page 26 and saw the cover pieces. Wasn’t expecting parts trees and clipping/shaving like an import model kit! Lol. Thanks, everyone.

i highly doubt any third party company will bother because the apparent demand for a fix is low. Trunkkey’s attempt is pretty good but it doesn’t cover enough of the blue for my taste. I’m a mechanical designer with access to CAD tools so I’ve been thinking about attempting my own cover piece but I don’t have a 3D printer at home and I’m sure it’s going to take several iterations and prints to get it right. They are very strict at the office about not printing personal stuff on the company printer. Im not in a huge rush so we shall see what fixes show up. I’m not against painting it because I really don’t think that will reduce the value and if it does I have no plans to sell it at the moment so it doesn’t matter.

The blue really bothered me as well, but I saw someone on here somewhere that is part of Cybertron Surgery that is printing & selling Trunkkey's hub/clip with his approval apparently. I ordered one, but am waiting for it to arrive. They offer them painted in a couple different shades or unpainted and I thought pricing seemed fair. They are located in Australia as a heads up. Maybe this will help?

A question for my fellow Unicronies:

the small screw hole covers are pretty good for the most part, but the ones on the large horns do not seem to want to stay in. I’m considering using some loctite to glue them in, but I’m worried about potentially discoloring or warping the plastic. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to get these to stay in?

Thank you for the help and the link! I would prefer a cap that goes further in towards the chompers so I was thinking about trying to model my own. But this would obviously be much easier.

Yea I saw your 2nd post about wanting it to go further in after I replied like a jabroni haha. At least now you have a backup plan to fall back on perhaps

You want to use the gel in the blue squeeze bottle, right? The ultra control gel?

Should be alright. Just glue the wall of the hole and slip the plug in. Use a thin coat where the excess pushes further into the hole instead of squeezing out the front.

I hope you're wrong. It would be great if a third party could package up all the mods (orange maw, lower teeth, led eyes, internal structure for dekibbled planet) to this guy so far for sale. Even a set of to-scale ships like the revenge, junkion and quintesson ships.

I tried to get a quote to get trunkkeys file as well as the internal structure 3D printed but it was ridiculous. I'd be better off buying a printer and doing it myself.

I wouldn't sell this thing either but you never know. In that sense I always try to keep my stuff original.

Did you try buying Trunkkey's maw adapter from here? I haven't tried yet myself. The item would be pretty light so maybe shipping isn't too bad? Thanks to @mcreichman54 for the link!

I'd be weary about understanding what the actual colour of filament they are using. They ganked my pictures I shared on TFW of the maw I printed with a gold filament and are using them to represent their orange unpainted variation.

I would recommend you to apply Faber Castell Tack It to make it stay in. And since this is not permanent, you can remove it anytime you want in future.

you can just grab some blue tack. that stuff is great and leaves no residue whenever you need to remove it.

yes I checked it out. Shipping to Canada is $25. Which is better than $100 to get a shop to print it for me but still. Ouch
