Oh believe me, there isn’t any problem. At all.
You wanted to share something harmless, that’s about it.
Well I assum you don’t spend your days harrassing some writters about some silly decades years old trivia, right ?

you asked a guy, get an answer, wanted to share... that’s cool.
    Fuck the rest.

It's the sort of discussion I was interested in having twenty years ago, by ten years ago I was kind of tired of it and by now I actually get irritated when people even bring it up.

This is basically how I always interpreted that sequence. Galvatron is obviously an upgraded Megatron (with the same memories and a similar design and whatnot), but no one else is a straight upgrade of an existing character. I don't know that anyone "became" Cyclonus, Scourge, or the Sweeps...I think Unicron disintegrated Megatron's old army and used the matter to build the new army. I always took the specific visuals during that sequence as more metaphorical than literal (outside of Megatron being turned into Galvatron, of course).

Every night I go to sleep crying, forever without the knowledge of which character became Cyclonus in the 86 movie.

You remind me a lot of the old “ultramagnus76” guy, who used to post every time he had an email exchange with Livio Ramondelli from IDW as if it was a “hot scoop”. :)

It’s harmless - i wouldn’t say it deserved its own post, but I wouldn’t get all sweaty about it either.

That's always the most logical explanation, as both Cyclonus and Scourge are fairly original in personality and are likely new sparks created by Unicron with the old Decepticons nothing but spare parts.

He already answered this last year. His answer was Skywarp. And that things during production don't always get corrected between departments, that things change frequently, ect, that the list of characters that were available for them to kill were given to them and who was actually shown to be killed on screen were in flux throughout production. He also gave a great explanation of why it was Skywarp. Which is far more valuable than anything obnoxious and stubborn fans when their only argument is "iT wAs On ThE sCrEeN11!!!" in movie rife with animation inconsistencies.

He doesn't know what he's talking about? The guy who edited the stories for the movie and show, that guy? Yeah, I'm pretty sure you have that backwards.

The movie also made other things that were flat out wrong also "very obvious" like dead characters still hanging around, characters being in places they weren't supposed to be, ect. The movie had a ton of animation errors and other things that made it further than they should have due to miscommunication. Dille explained this as well.

Glad to see you've chosen the high ground of civility at least.

Not when it's been thirty years of fan debates and speculation to influence his apparent "authorial intent." He's playing to the crowd, because the theory that the blue and purple guys became the blue and purple guys is popular among fans who don't like the fact that their childhood characters ultimately amounted to expendable bodies. Imagine how angry fans would be if he actually said it was Bombshell? :lol

Even if it was genuinely his intent to portray Skywarp as Cyclonus... that's not what the final movie shows, unless you also want to write off Thundercracker as Scourge as well? One can't be alright and not the other. It's one thing for duplicate characters to show up as minuscule crowd filler after death, as even in the cartoon there were numerous Seekers and Insecticons, it's another entirely to have storyboards with characters labelled and the animation front and center portraying certain events.

Again, nobody questions Scourge because it fits their preference, despite Thundercracker also showing up later on in crowds.

That’s alright brother. It’s the nature of the hobby. Please share what Dillie replies, when he does. His inside knowledge holds more AUTHORITY on this matter than us geeks taking sides. But if you ever find out the real colors of Rumble and Frenzy,...you know what to do.

and the story boards. And it's actually supported by officially licensed fiction. It's more solid logic then trying to convince oneself that what was on screen isn't what happened

Quite frankly, I don’t give a shit who Flint Dille is or what his opinion is regarding who Cyclonus was made from. His ‘definitive answer’ doesn’t mean shit. It’s not going to stop people from debating this, especially since according to you he already answered that question, and it still hasn’t stopped the debate.

    ;) ;)
How does Unicron create personality components without Vector Sigma? He's not a god, just a really big, anti-electron powered robot built by a little monkey.

Only Wheeljack (and Grimlock with a high IQ) can create robot life without Vector Sigma.

    ;)

I love how, in the midst of battle, he just buggers off to make Nosecone out of some random shit on the floor and then when we see the pair next, he's made a fully fledged five team combiner off camera. That all makes perfect narrative sense.

Yet here we are, arguing the logistics of who Cyclonus is/isn't when the storyboard and subsequent animation direction clearly declares in front of our eyes that it's Bombshell.

I always treated Cyclonus just like Scourge, per the G1 tech specs:

Created from Decepticon wreckage, he leads "The Sweeps", a wolf pack of tracker-terminators designed to hunt down and eradicate Autobots.

Emphasis mine. The bodies were just raw materials.

It doesn't matter who became who. They were probably all dead by the time Unicron got to them (except Megatron).
