i only ever use it on a figure to move the torso slightly like a a mm or 2, i think it looks awkward and strange when over used

That's amazing!! I don't see that as Jetfire, but a Macross Veritech fighter.

When Jetfire came out, I hated it as a kid because it looked like a rip off from Robotech (that was airing at the time) instead of the Skyfire that we got in the animated series.

I don't even think I have a waist swivel. I guess I'm an early product too.

Funny Jetfire was my 3rd favourite figure when I was a kid behind prime and soundwave, of course. Never really thought of it as a Mech even though I loved Robotech as well. For some reason I just took it as Jetfire because thats what the box said (and I had no Robotech toys).

I do plan on trying to do this to my Veritech as well someday in the future for nostalgia.

Just to say it. I love waist swivels. I'll take them over ankle tilts any day. And that text is not blue for a reason.

Though I would also accept a mid-torso twist, as mentioned above.

Plus you're probably a nightmare to tranform. Of course this is just based off of renders

Random question- has anyone offered 3d printed backpack replacement tabs? Mine broke, ages ago. I requested a replacement from Fanstoys but the part never arrived, unfortunately.

Which is ironic since Robotech itself was a ripoff...er..."adaptation" of SDF Macross. I actually felt the same way as you, even though I ended up getting a Jetfire because it was the easiest way to get my hands on a Valk with super parts.

I’ll stick with the heroic proportions of Phoenix for bot mode, and probably get Takara for Jet mode display. The prototype is too early to tell any details, but some reason, it looks like it’s got saggy manboobs. Final product will definitely be better, and who knows, might change my mind (ended up ordering mp52 trilogy, so anything is possible).

I feel like phoenix fits the bill over Takara. Their version is a little too close to the animation model.

Me too. I prefer those little heroic, chromed and detailed extras that FT adds to their figures. TT's all toon look is too plain for figures of that size. It suits Legends class figures, but MP figures need that premium look.

Why not sell on eBay? People are willing to pay 300 plus for a copy. A new one just sold for 300 + 59.99 shipping (from China).

Got this guy couple weeks ago from @Miescatter (thanks again, man!) and just cracked him open today. Man, he's huge. It's funny. When I took him out, I heard a little voice say "I crush your head."

Maybe there's some Decepticon in him still.

I get it. After 10% Evilbay fee, plus 4% PayPal....that's $42 just handed over to corporate open hands. Might as well try here first.

"No" is a beautiful word. One of my favorites. Just ask my daughter.

I finally opened mine up this past weekend. Holy crap. This is totally what I wanted. He's got modern design nods, but that big, chunky, strong build that just tugs on the nostalgia strings at every click and move. Like a G1 toy all grown up and ready to throw down, even if we never had a G1 version of this particular character. (Yeah, yeah, Jetfire/Skyfire, but we all know what I'm saying.)

This is me. Everybody else is talking about how to sell theirs and I just got mine. I'll get the official if it looks cool, but this guy has earned permanent status on my shelf simply for being awesome in his own right.

Same mood here. I have trouble imagining what Takara could do with the actual MP that'd be enough of an improvement on Phoenix for me to want to splurge again (Especially at Takara's asking price). Good for them if they do but it feels like there's little room to improve on him while remaining show accurate.
